Harry Potter Wand differences!?

They looked wood to me and pretty detailed. But that could mean nothing

I would think they would be, can't see them wanting or needing to out anything but authentic stuff in the displays, or am I being naive?

Saw this at my local Barnes and Noble. Different packaging, and it says Noble Collection, but sadly no Harry to compare mine to.

I had a theory about Harry's (and everyone else's)
They start off plain and not ornate. After the wizard receives their wand the wand takes on the personality of the wizard that wields it.
Hence that's why in the first two movies Harry's wand is plain and then from the third on it looks wooden and custom to him.
That's what I like to think lol

Yeah, that's interesting. They also seem to change lengths a lot. It's been so long since I've read the books I don't remember if this stuff was addressed.

Recently read them and they don't dive too deep into it. My theory holds true to me in the movie world

I thought so too. I wonder if we can talk to JK about adding that into it lol

Yeah I love the books and I remember that it said Harry's wand was exactly 11 inches long, made of holly, and has a pheonix feather. It also so says Voldemort's wand is made of yew, 13 1/2 inches long, and had a pheonix feather, and Hagrid's was made of oak, 16 inches long, and didn't say what it's core was (just that it was "rather bendy").

Same here. Planning to make one 16 inches long. Anything shorter than 12-14in just feels to small.

My first Harry Wand was 11in but felt too small. I decided to make it 14in for adult sized hands

I think the movie and Noble Collection wands are 14"... They needed to make the wands longer than in the books because if they used the book measurements, it wouldn't be that nice on-screen. My wands are mostly between 13" to 16", depending on whose wand it is. But I pretty much use 14" as my go to length.

I also remember some debate among Potter fans on whether the movies are using the shaft length or the entire length as their measurements as a technicality to make them bigger. If I recall, if you measure the shaft, without the handle, on Harry's movie wand, it comes out to around 11 inches. However, I believe this only works on Harry's wand. If you try it with Voldemort's wand, the entire length comes out to be around 13.5 inches.

Sounds just like the books to me. Nice thinking though.
