Harrison Ford on Shia LaBeouf

Or perhap they and he doesn't suck as much as you people think.

Millions are buying tickets.

I think some people think a little too much of their own opinions.

maybe he could play a young rocky balboa in a rocky prequel lol

take it easy fellas

stallone has had his share of bombs, but he's proved himself over his career regardless, oscar award winner for 1976 best picture starred in the lead role nominated for best actor and he wrote the script for the movie

as far as my avatar goes, i am a walter payton fan, who is probably one of the most respected people in the history of pro football because of his character, that is my main avatar

Actually, he's a pretty good actor. The problem is that a blockbuster is no place to practice your acting chops.

I'd concede he can act. He just isn't very good at it. Like Mic says though, just my opinion, but he is on the list of "Don't bother"s with Michael Bay films, Seth Rogen and any other blow hards who do not come to mind.

actors come out and say this all the time. We forget, disagree or agree. It's That simple.
Will Smith apologized for "Wild Wild West" Sam Jackson apologized for "shaft" and here we are with Shia. I don't think he was out of line. As a young actor he may have read the script and thought, this is not that great, but Harrison is signed on and changes are usually made during shooting, so hey the experience of working with these two may be worth it. Maybe we can work together to make this film worth it.

Personally, I liked the film. I didn't love it. I didn't think it would be as good as the originals. Bottom line is the film did drop the ball in a lot of ways. That goes to writing, directing and yes, some acting. When you fail, you fail as a team. I applaud Shia for speaking his mind.

I would have starred in "INDIANA JONES AND THE CASE OF THE GLASS FULL OF PEE PEE" if I had a chance to work with Harrison Ford, and I would never have complained about it. Ever.

This guy doesn't deserve his lot in life. Lets go back the the future and take his place!

Explain how Shai LaDouche can't act? Have you actually seen/watched him in the films he's been in?Not to sound like a broken record, but he just isn't a *good actor*.He's been type cast to play one kind of character;the paranoid, stuttering smart A$%#! teenager seen all throughout the Transformer films, and seen earlier in I-Robot and some other lame ,"my neighbor is a serial killer" film.It was so bad I can't remember the name of it.I founbd him to be unconvincing in INDY4. liked INDY4,but it has issues...but I still liked most of it(except for Shai being in it).

Does he deserve praise for speaking his mind? That's debatable. You don't T.S about the film or the director (regardless of whether you like him or not),who happens to be a multi-Oscar winning director, and has turned out quality film after film over a very long career.I've also read some of Shai's interviews (out of curiosity) and as a person...Shai comes off as an arrogant, bragging cuss.It would take some serious convincing to change my mind about his character.

I.M.O, he needs to re-think and re-vamp his career, and perhaps going to a film/theater school wouldn't hurt him either instead of playing off his Disney days on screen. There's not a whole lot of acting involved when all you have to do is hop/run around dodging bullets, explosions and scream your head off saying,"OPTIMUSSS!" a dozen times thoughout a film as well as having that,"I wish I could get laid look" on his face while doing Megan Fox with his eyes and deliving a joke or one-liner here and there.I'm sorry, but that's how I see him as an actor. My 7 yr. old niece can stand in front of me,crack jokes and be dramatic and she is far more convincing.

He was actually quite good in his smaller films. The Greatest Game Ever Played and Holes showed some real talent for a young actor. He can act - the scripts for movies like Indy 4 and Transformers don't quite allow you to show that off.

My initial reaction is respect for him speaking his mind about these films. Then I consider it a bit more, and realize he's still copping out and pulling his punches and being disingenuous. You "didn't sell" that monkey swinging scene, really? That's how you honestly feel about it? He's saying what he thinks people want to hear and trying to be diplomatic about it at the same time by taking some of the blame that he doesn't really believe he deserves. Either come out and say what you feel, or keep it to yourself. Also, if you don't want to make that kind of movie, stop signing up for them. It's hard to buy that he's surprised these CG-fests keep turning out like crap.

To be fair, I believe he signed on for Indy IV sight-unseen. I would have signed up for that without reading a script, too.

Yeah, I mean, I appreciate him stepping up and criticizing the films, and I like that an actor would be honest enough to say "That last film I did? that was crap. I don't encourage people to see it." Or find a diplomatic way of saying that same general thing.

I still think that, respect it though one may, it ain't gonna win you friends or serve you well career-wise to do that. I think ultimately the "bad career move" angle was what Ford was likely responding to, but without seeing the original interviews in context, I can't say for sure. But I do appreciate an actor not trying to BS audiences. I just don't think it ensures you'll get a ton of work in the future.

Or the right director comes his way an respects his statement and gives him the part.

One things for sure Directors probably don't look HERE to see if you guys approve of Shia.

It depends on who it is that's doing the trash-talking. Peter O'Toole trash-talked Troy after finishing it, but then again, he's Peter Frikkin' O'Toole.

I'd rather he be honest and upfront than tow the company line and spit out the pre-prepared statements. And I find it hard to even consider the opinions of people who think they're clever in immaturely spelling his name.

Regardless,in the end...Shai has allot of growing to both as an actor and an individual.Speaking your mind/voicing an opinion is different than trashing on a film. His acting isn't the greatest.I've yet to see him "spread his wings" as an actor and am therefore "unconvinced" he can do much of anything on film other than what is hand picked for him.Perhaps I'm judging a little harshly, but being type cast (and everyone else knows) doesn't really work anymore.

Whether it is the screenplay or dialog...Shai just comes off as a ******* 95% of the time on film.Granted nothing I say in here will amount to much.As someone stated previously..."Hollywood isn't peaking in here to take a look on people's opinions about their films or actors in general".Maybe they should? They would/could learn something about what they are doing wrong whether it be directors(choice of directors),actors, screen plays being green lighted for films or how far Hollywood has its foot up the film production's ass to even make a good, enjoyable film.Perhaps a little less inviolvement might produce better results?

Granted, that will never happen. Not with the way things are done now.Too many producers, big studios wanting to see results and "big turn around" on their money. Many times they opt for a weak ending,a re-shoot or something else that completely F*^!%&s up the continuity of a film or the film overall.Look what studios did to the ending of Blade Runner instead of trusting the director, but that wasn't the theatrical releases only problem.I'm getting off track, but I think you might see where I'm coming from and where I'm going with this.

I'm afraid that the days of Indiana Jones are over. Harrison is just too old to play the part. perhaps it could be turned over to another actor. Dennis Quaid has a resemblance to Ford. Perhaps?

I am a huge fan of the first three films but I did not buy into the story of Shai's character.
