Han Solo ESB + ANH all metal Blasters, step by step

Lichtbringer, what you do is ROCK N ROLL!!!

Thank you so much for your reportage and also a big thanks for the fantastic pictures!!!

Hope we see more of them in the future!!! :thumbsup

Thank you, Sir. As i planned to make the Greedo Killer and the ROTJ ..... i´m afraid i will show more pics in the future. And the Merr-Sonn version is planned, too. :)

My Flash-Hider for the ANH-Hero arrived. :thumbsup

Now i have to find someone in my region who can parkerize it for me. And turn the bullbarrel with a adapter, to be able to assemble the F-H with it´s huge inner diameter.

And while waiting for the paint to dry, i decided to finish some parts - the alu parts from the ESB (Scopemount and Pistons) still needed some black. Again i used Birchwoods Alu-Black.

I love the worn metal look so much more than painted and scratched, so i gave this gun the same appearance as my heavy used (under bad conditions) rifle in my army days - no big scratches/flaking on a few points, instead sligh wear marks all around. But i´m still a little bit unsecure about that.

As usuall every comment will be welcome. :)

These are so nice. Can't tell you how many times I have studied this thread. I am currently building a DL-44 as well, and trying to do it in similar fashion but with far less sophisticated tools.

I agree completely on the weathered metal as opposed to the scratched paint approach. I think what you have done is absolutely spot on.

Thanks for such a great step by step. Very inspiring.

And here we go again. :D

Now that i have the correct flash-hider, i need a adapter to make it fit on the slim standard Mauser-barrel. Due to the fact that i had no alu that was long AND thick enough, i took a piece thats long enough for the barrel, and a second short but thicker one for the adapter-part. The 2 parts were secured with Loctite strong and pressed together.

The parts slide together

And tightening the screw holds them together

Up to now it´s only the rough shape, until i get the correct measurements - the barrel needs to be turned down around 1mm more, it´s rear end needs to get the 3 angled edges, and it has to be drilled out with the proper diameter.

But i think it shows the way i planned to go. :)

Oh, and i put the painted resin scope on it

Don´t be distracted by the mounted flash-hider - it´s only temporary.

It´s for a Merr-Sonn when ready. :)

GREAT progress pics my friend :thumbsup

Can´t wait to see these finished :)

Thanks Markus. :)

It started as a little side-project, only - to get some time-out from mastering starship kit patterns.

Then this whole thing got, somehow, it´s own life. :confused

REALLY brilliant work mate - warmest congratulations!

Regards

MARK

Thank you, too, Mark. :)

I just try my best to make some home modified Denix replicas shine.

And maybe someone reading this thread will find 1 or 2 ideas for his own build, later. THAT would be really cool. :cool

This weekend i mounted my "new" arrived Hensoldt, and painted the temporary flash-hider black:

And i shortened the Bull barrel for the final flash-hider a little bit, after that it was drilled to make it fit on the Mauser-barrel:

Looking good! Are you going to mate the bull barrel to the Denix or keep where it fits over the existing barrel?

It depends - i bought a MGC some hours ago, first i need to have a look how the bull barrel fits on it.

After that i will make my decision.

Does anyone know what metal the MGCs are made from? Zamak, as the Denix? Or Steel as a real Mauser?
