HALO PISTOL update Sept. 21

Because I don't want you to wait for info i'll show you what dropped in at my door yesterday. Forgive the poor photography/flash. I thought the guns would be here and out my door by now but Geoff stupidly decided to ship these to me via UPS when we live 15 miles from each other...

Obviously there aren't enough pistols from Geoff to complete all the orders - my machine is running as we speak to fill in the gaps.

I've got much to say about all of this and some serious questions for Geoff but I've got little time to do that now, so details will come tommorow...

I believe that he said he was going in the order of when the orders were placed...so I would think you would be safe ;) Now, back to my garage... :eek

When Tyre started taking orders I remember that he started a list
with RPF baord names how many and what type of pistol was ordered and if the order was paid or not. what happened to that

Just curious

The only info that was listed on this list looked like this

#) TK648 - RPF $125 deposit (M6D,M6C) PAID IN FULL

no other personal INFO was listed.
As a suggestion the list should be up-dated with the word SHIPPED after PAID IN FULL

I just got mine in the mail a few minutes ago.

Give me a few minutes to snap pics, then I'll rant.

Rant? That doesn't sound good.

Well I'm not terribly pleased.

First let me say that having HALO guns is cool because I'm a huge Halo freak. They aren't the most comfortable grips for my adverage non-MC hands, but that's no fault of Tyler's.

The M6D is warped. I can't speak for certain if Tyler's masters were symmetrical (but I'm going to assume they are since they were CAD). This piece is not symmetrical. Obviously not symmetrical. The back of the grip has a patch of bubbles about the size of a nickle cut in half. Higher up there are some shallow gouges (for lack of a better word). The back end of the slide has an uneven surface and most of the details there are lost. Some superficial pinholes all over the piece. The seam line isn't very pretty at all. Not a bilateral mould, which I don't get but that's just me. The seperation between the scope (cylander) and the top of the barrel is washed out and the cleanup of the piece has destroyed most of the sharp lines on the piece.

The first M6C is likewise warped, but in a different direction. Still asymmetrical. The back end of the slide is uneven and the backside is noticeably lopsided. I can't find the seam line, and there are few to no bubbles and pinholes. The clean up destroyed the sharp lines on this piece.

The second M6C is evidentally straight out of the mould, some putty slapped on the backside of the slide, and given a thin coat of black primer. Different warp than the first M6C, the sugar cookie texture hasn't been addressed at all. None of the casting's sharp lines have been destroyed by virtual of the minimal clean-up it received. This one easily needs the most work.

All three have been given uneven coats of a black primer, which isn't a complaint so much as an observation. However, these are the worst resin pieces I've ever received, and I got some nasty ones from Dreamland Rob years ago. If Tyler hadn't already nixed the possibility of refunds I would request one now. Much as I love the idea of having Halo pistols in my collection I'm just so disheartened by what I received I may never get up the drive to actually go into the clean-up needed for them.

Your mileage may very, but I'm not pleased at all.

Pictures later if anyone wants them after my cam is recharged.
