HALO PISTOL update Sept. 21

I was afraid that everyone was going to call at the same time...looks like that happened. I also called and left a message. Fortunately, I paid through Paypal with my credit card, so I'll be able to file a claim with them if this ends in futility.

Whoa whoa whoa... ease up fellas. Forgive the recent delays, I know you're all anxious about your money but rest easy, your pistols are coming. Let's not get carried away with conspiracy theories either...

I've been on vacation and have been busy with architectural work that requires attention. Besides, there has been nothing to update; the new masters, molds, and resin pulls take time to do and Geoff and I both have busy schedules. IÂ’d also like to remind you all that RMC is the one whoÂ’s out another several hundred dollars in new material costs. I thought the quality wasn't good enough for the money you paid so I forked over the extra money to do this thing right. The pistols were done over the weekend and will ship out in the next few days. No refunds will be allowed for those few that have PM'ed about them. Sorry, I'm not making much on this stuff and I can't afford to give you your money back - you paid and I am delivering.

And Richie did receive my shipment – he PM’ed me confirming it.

The $34 pistols were offered on the smaller halo board before I knew how much the resin material and mold making costs. Totally inaccurate but if you read further you’ll see that the price was raised to the exact same price as you all paid – I even posted a link to the original RPF thread for them to get the pricing info. No scam there, sorry Trekky boy.

Ok, now that this is all settled the pistols will ship in the order you paid. IÂ’m going off of the PayPal records, if your paypal address is not right please let me know and if it isnÂ’t on there youÂ’ll be hearing from me. Updates will come when there is something to update.

the point to this whole matter is that you didnt update us with squat for quite a while tyre.

i have done projects on this board before, and more often than not i run into delays, but i make it a point to even post up that there is no update. it helps keep customers less on edge.

look at it from this side. you have 11 people at least who forked out 125 bucks to get these done. shortly thereafter, poof, you go bye bye after we say "those castings need some serious work".

its not paranoid to think "hey i just got boned" when theres nothing coming from anyone about anything. i did pm the caster today, and he responded today, with a "i dunno whats up". THAT IS AN UPDATE. telling us you were heading out on vacation would have eased a few minds. that would have been an update.

if the pistols show up and look great, awesome, and ill keep you on my list of "will buy from again". if they show up and look like crap, then i wont do business with you again. same rule i have for ebay and for here. i dunno if this is your first ever project or "run" or whatnot, but if it is, use this thread as a lesson to keep us updated.

ive had a trade going on with a former member here for about 3 years now. im not angry or irritated because we communicate a few times a year to see whats up.

ive commisioned 2 artists to do 2 diff prop works for me. they both have a good bit of cash behind them, and im not worried because THEY EMAIL ME. they keep in touch even if its to say "havent had much of a chance to work on it, but ill try this weekend" or "been out of town for a few days, ill drop you a line in a few", then they drop me a line.

im not trying to come down harsh or mean or even angry. well, i am angry, but it is strictly from the complete blackout of news on your end. if you sell something, its your duty as seller to keep the customer informed of whats going on and to actually answer PMs and emails. your fun doesnt stop when you get the money, it stops when the transaction is complete.

anywho, ill keep an eye in the mail. just let me know when they ship please.

Thanks for posting. I guess the only thing the paypal record may not say is the 2 for or combination deals, though I think that was noted in mine.

I wasn't accusing you of scamming Tyler. But as said above, when there are NO updates... people get paranoid and suspcious.

Just very anxious on my end.

I also PM'ed you with my new shipping address awhile ago.

Thanks,

Update =)

Got these from Geoff... from what I understand there is a small amount of clean-up to do before they ship out but I thought you'de all like to take a peak.

There we go. That's some minor cleanup and not a major problem to fix, unlike the others. A little sandable wood filler and that should do the trick.

some bondo and itll be a dream :)

didnt mean to sound like i was coming down on you like the wrath of god or something, just trying to impart to you and to the people that might be selling anything on the board that updates are a good thing.

the pistols look great, and i cant wait for my pair.

Just in case anyone is curious...

Good afternoon,

I wanted to everyone know that I am currently, uninvolving myself in the Halo Gun project. Not that it does not interest me, nor do I think it is a bad project, but I simply continue to work this way. This is not to say the project is off. Just my portion.

It is bad enough that I don't have much free time to begin with, but to set time aside to work on these, and not have any substantial contact with the originator is intolerable. If I came into work, and suddenly stopped answering the phone, or responding to emails, I wouldn't have a job at all.

I think it is best that everyone know I provided what I could to the process, but in the end, everything always felt rushed. Mostly because of lack of direction and direct communication. Materials were under ordered, I never recieved confirmation that more would be ordered, or had been.

The quantaties that were finished, did get passed on to Tyler this morning via UPS, and what he chooses to do with them, I cannot say. But I do know that I can no longer accept responsibility for his acions/inactions.

I would suggest requesting originals or a refund. I have decided not to charge him for any of the materials I've contributed, I can make due. I am not totally satisified with the finished product, not that they are horrible, but they were hurried. They have fualts, and I would not sell them myself without the understanding that they need some cosmetic cleanup.

I will charge him for the time spent on creating the molds, but I WILL NOT PRODUCE ANY MORE GUNS. These molds will be kept under lock and key until such a time as I recieve a small payment, then they will be destroyed, unless of cousre he wants them for himself.

If you have any questions, let me know. I wish I had a more positive message for you, but I don't. I am very sorry for the outcome of the project thus far, and be assured, this is not the way I conduct my own business transactions. I would first create the product, get it to a point I was happy with, produce them, then post them for sale.

My apologies,

Geoff

sometimes it just doesnt pay to get outta bed in the morning. between traffic, intestinal fun, and now this... im starting to think i should have stayed in bed.

i dont see a problem with the caster backing out of whats going on, provided the pistols everyone ordered are made and ready to go out. i understand some cleanup will be needed, and im ok with a little cleanup.

if he backed out before finishing the castings.... im not very happy but thats his choice.

i guess we will know more as soon as someone receives a pistol and lets us know whats up. or we can wait for an update from tyler.

chris

Ok, just hopped onto my computer to find this.... WOW.

Very sad to hear this and totally unexpected. I have not spoken to Geoff about this yet and IÂ’d like to ask for some time before I post any more details about the pistols until I do. I don not know how many sets have been finished, nor have I seen the quality of the new guns aside from the pictures you've all seen. The guns WILL ship this coming Monday. If there aren't enough pistols ready for complete shipment IÂ’ll print them directly from the machine - this HAS gone on too long.

I'd like to apologize for the lack of updates too. As someone suggested, yes this is my first project on the board and I may have underestimated the time and attention something like this requires - my fault. This was meant to be a quick side job on my spare time but it seems to have run a little sideways.

Again, IÂ’ll have more to say once I talk to Geoff and find out exactly what has happened in the last 24 hours to incite this kind of backing-out as I have not heard a single warning or sense of distaste from him.

More soon...

not to sound like an ass or anything tyler but im not to sure everyone would want there addresses out for the world to see. dont know if theres a rule against it or not but i figured its worth mentioning.

Ditto. I don't always give out my first name. I do NOT want my mailing address posted for the world to see.

Take them down and contact us privately.
