Halo 4 Master Chief: The Definitive Chief

Re: Halo 4 Master Chief: The Definitive Master Files

This helmet's visor in-game actually has a honeycomb pattern when viewed up close.

It's just a model, there's really no point in creating the honeycomb pattern on it, it would be impossible (even more than this helmet's already hi def) to pep. People usually print out stencils and paint over the visors afterwards.

Great work Dystorted, keep it going :)

Re: Halo 4 Master Chief: The Definitive Master Files

Thanks Armorer, there are alot of details left out of this render, since this is a work in progress. When I get the final 3D print file ready, I'll post up full renders.

UPDATE!!

Slowly making more progress on the rest of the armor.

This is pretty darn impressive.
What kind of 3D printer are you planning on using for the final print? Getting solid pieces that size gets into the thousands of dollars really quickly.

Just a quick update, did a little fine tuning and shaping. Hope to have this completed within the week.

Re: Halo 4 Master Chief: The Definitive Master Files

It's been a tough move and transition to Dallas, with no call backs from jobs, I've decided to push myself into production mode. With that being said, out with the old and in with the new. The name Dystorted Inc didn't really have that much sticking power, so I've now started Evoc Props. It's something that has alot of meaning to me. Evoc is a shortened from Evoca, which is a rough translation of Reclaim or Reclaimer. Not only does this have meaning in the Halo franchise, but this my Reclamation to prop making. I'm now working on a few commissions, and will be posting updates soon.

I've also created a new Facebook and Twitter that you can find below in my signature. I hope that you will drop by and subscribe, there will be many things coming up in the weeks ahead that you won't want to miss.

Thank you.

Re: Halo 4 Master Chief: The Definitive Master Files

I love this. Do you plan to add any further details to the helmet? There are a few things I've noticed that would benefit your model (e.g. the 4 circular formations in the "nose"). Perhaps it's still a work in progress?

Have you done any overlay analysis with any screenshots? The comparison below is not perfect as doesn't match distance and camera angle, so it doesn't overlay perfectly.

Hope this helps. Looking forward to seeing more!

Love the progress on this. Look'n forward to seeing more :popcorn

Re: Halo 4 Master Chief: The Definitive Master Files

I will definitely be adding more detail before the final print, as well as cleaning up some areas that need attention. I also have the Halo 4 Recon that is about to printed, I'm doing a limited run if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the support guys!

Very nice job on the rendering sir. Methinks I shall be watching. lol

Re: Halo 4 Master Chief: The Definitive Master Files

Nice renders, just leave out the environment, the background kills the subject.

What kind of 3D printer are you planning on using for the final print? Getting solid pieces that size gets into the thousands of dollars really quickly.

So if I am following this right you print out these on a 3d printer at full size then mold from the prints? I agree with MrGreene, this is an expensive print unless you have connections :) The finished piece will be in urethane? What product do you use? you have great modeling skills btw. Keep going !
