Halliwax's weird V3 theory

I'm just gonna post a few images of my overlays already but this is very hard to show without playing with the transparency live. I can assure you they match to the pixel.

here I overlaid the 4 from the 34 on top of the 44, they are exactly similar. I circled in red small details that are exactly similar too:

I just did a bit of photoshoping of my own and I don't really know how to show nicelly my results but overlaying the "new" image and the one from leia in the link you provided, the label is exactly the same, that was just mirrored vertically. the 34 was erased with a small dot still sligtly visible in one spot and the right 4 of the 44 is an exact duplicate of the one from 34. The left dot seems to be a copy of that same 4 with a bit of fluidity from photoshop to change a bit his shape but you can still clearly see they are similar.

this seems like a very elaborate scam! we need to find the original picture of R2. Looking at the picture, it's hard to verify that but I would say that maybe the saber and the arm was added. The shadows are suspicious.

If this is the case im sorry i came across them now and sad that someone would go to that extent, hopefully we can get a definite conclusion but can see what you mean in the Luke image

Well the "new" Mark photo is definitely fake. Yes, they absolutely took the throne photo and copied his face onto the fake one. His hair is all in EXACTLY the same place over his forehead. And there's a piece of hair or a scratch on the original photo going across his right cheek that is visible on the fake photo, making it look like a facial scar or something.

Yes you can see it on his chin where in the throne picture would of had his fingers, his chin is slightly missing
 
The belt is a giveaway as it never had that much brown showing during production. Look at it in the throne photo.
 
Hahaha, this is so ridiculous!

Man, yeah. Photoshop aside, the oversized, long pommel with the tri ring is a dead giveaway.

dang! you can not clearly see that blurred finger for a neck
 
so today was a very emotional day. i woke up this morning and went into work late, setting the job up, i saw the new photo... literally started shaking. shared it with a few people, and they got a hold of the experts. with in minutes i was being told it was a fake.

i refused to believe this, in my confusion ive never seen all those polaroids. ive seen about half of them, so when im being told they are fake, i figured they had to fake 30 plus photos to sneak this lightsaber in?! no way..

still super excited all day, couldn't believe this kenobi hero made it all the way to RoTJ, this saber must be the special tool the hoth soldiers were using.. mind was racing all day, couldn't wait to get home to be able to save them to my computer...

after a long morning of excitement and not believing my RPF veterans, i got some time at lunch to blow this photos up on my phone. the luke i was 100% sold it was real, at the time i didn't believe it was the fake obi wan in his hand, i thought it was the v2

(dont forget im examining these on a old iphone 5 screen)

the kenobi bench saber, besides the sink knob standing out from the beginning, i took this as though it was the alternate sink knob with the taller top cap.. but still wondered why it was so dull... i started seeing sharp shadow lines in the shadow around the emitter... the shadow at the top of the saber just didn't look right.. it looked sharp, where as the rest of it looked normal..

Chris and Starkiller then pointed out the Darth Hez replica debacle last year and sure enough.. my heart then broke..

i was so excited about this, sad that its a fake... and shame on the person or persons trying to pull this trick off again, congratulations on fooling me with the hamill picture.. the kenobi bench picture i was really up in the air.. if i didn't have the veterans telling me in was a fake, i think i wound have completely fallen for this...

which brings me to this post, this really really scares me.. because i feel for this... photoshop technology is getting scary.. i would have put the whole hoax together if the lightsaber ended up showing up on a auction site and these pictures were leaked... but these pictures were randomly found.. so it made it much more believable for me.. plus not knowing at the time only these 2 fake photos are new polaroids in the collection.. i was hook line and sunk
 
i am still determined to find this Polaroid with R2.. im curious if its some real picture, or a completely stage pic from some dudes garage..

i also used r2 as reference to prove it was a screen used droid.. trying to figure out what was originally on the table that they shopped out to put the saber in its place..

im going to go reach out to my astromech brothers, see if they have seen this photo before (minus the saber)
 
I'd say that the saber photo is a fake & a pretty poor one at that. There are a number of inconsistencies apart from the 44 (note also the luke photo is also 44). ,,,,,,

Only the facker would know why this was done.

Whoops! Just realised by listing all the 'tells' I'm showing potential fakers how do a better job. Der !
I'll just say there are multiple mistakes both glaring & subtle, in addition to those already listed, that show this is a composite image.

I see a bad straight line on the guys thumb in this photo, right where you have to photoshopped the emitter under it

Dude...I was right there with you with all kinds of immediate speculation regarding what this photo “proved”. So many wild theories...

I’m still wiping the egg off my face.

lol I’m glad I’m not alone, I wish I waited until I got home to see the photos better, you can even see the radio and tape rolls aren’t in the right orientation lol

Haaaa, got the heart pumping pretty good... cleaned the carbon off the valves :p

Same here buddy. Before I realized it was a fake, I had already spent an hour looking at it on my phone and planning on how I was going to build one for myself
 
I thought for sure it was a male balance pipe lol that’s what got me looking at the shadows

Pure excitement for the best of me
