H & K MP-5 Gun ship

This is such a great build! I create miniatures and design models for a living so I can respect the thought and skill in this. It's a really balanced and well composed model (y)thumbsup

You may have already mentioned it and I missed it in the detail, but how are you powering the lighting?

Thank you very much for your kind word.

Those LED lights are powered by a couple of AAA battery out side of the model right now. I will switch to a home power supply sometime soon.

I'm so inspired by your ingenuity and talent! I really want to try this out some time but I have no experience with model building or anything. I'll need to find some cheap parts trees somewhere to start off, thanks for showing your progress, simply inspiring work.
Is there anywhere in particular I should look to buy models for kitbashing? any kind of model in particular have good parts to bash from?

Thank you very much for your looking at my work.

In fact, This is my only third build for this kind of work and there is nothing special skill or technique you need to have. If you want to know the tips and technique, every one of here will love to tell you. (even the things you haven't asked :lol)
If you can imagine then you can build it. You can solve the problem over come from time to time.

If you want some donor kit. several scales of German tanks including 88 mm flak guns are useful. And also 1/700 scale Japanese battle ship, engine parts of the F-1 racer and many more.

There are a lot of thing to be a basic shape of your own model. Old WW2 air craft or choppers in Vietnam war and aircraft Carrier.
Not only kit parts but some things you found in your daily life. If you check the dollar store, a bottle of shampoo will be the body of the MECH, Some PET bottle will be a star cruiser. Combining those different part often generates an interesting shape you haven't even expected. And that's the fun part of this. And you can put the details with some tank parts or battle ship parts. Not only that, some steeples or clips, buttons and cap of ball point pens will do. Make it with considering a good balance and proportion. And then once you spray primer on it, you'll say WOOOW !:lol
Please post your work on this site soon and so I can enjoy it.

All the best,

Katsu

A little progress.

Add a couple of ventral fin and put some greeblies on the edge of each wing. It took time as usual:confused

It may divide the opinion into two. :lol Need it or not.

Thanks for looking ! I love to hear you comment.

Personally I think you've got enough fins without the canards.
And I might try building up the outside sides of the two top and bottom fins with maybe a cylinder or something? I dunno they look a little spindly to me.

You said you'd divide opinion :lol! Well I like the look, visually it kinda balances the front and rear - also it makes the front look less like guns. Although I can see why they could be considered pointless; maybe a bit more detail and they'll look like they have more purpose :)

For the outside sides of each fin, I may put some details later and then want you to see how it worked.
