Green Lantern Movie Ring

karius1978 blatantly recast my steel band into silver and is selling them. I confronted him about it and he said he made it himself and that it doesn't look like mine. you be the judge:

One easy tell is this line circled in red here:

Wow did you get him removed from here?

eBay has no problem pulling auctions if someone else uses your photos- you essentially have a copyright on your photos. I even had eBay remove auctions where a guy was taking tutorials I had written, burning them on a disc and then selling them.

On another note, I finally picked up a TRU ring and am in the process of modifying it to get the LED in there- it's going to be close but I think it'll go.

Just tossing in my two cents. I'd say definitely have the folks that have had pics stolen contact eBay. As many have said already they will pull the idjit.

Sadly people out there like this guy are a dime a dozen though. It annoys me that people do that.

I think Todd needs to report him for sure, and if bunch of us send it in maybe claim the photo is from OUR site? Wife said the more that report faster it will get pulled!

Hey folks,

Any more word about this? I was actually going to buy one of these rings off of eBay before I stumbled on this thread in my quest for moding tips for my TRU ring. If you do a completed sales search, it looks as if "The Bond Gallery" has already sold three of these pre-sale rings....

Got the LED into the TRU ring and everything fits great after modifying the ring. There actually is a silver bezel around the center stone- you just can't see it as the LED is so bright. I still need to make a mold of the battery holder. I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow that shows how it all goes together.

Still waiting for the loser to give me his number... I think he knows I am on to him... It makes me sick he has sold any of these! How could you buy something and have no idea what your getting?

Glad you guys like the ring mod- it's a bit of work to do but I think it's worth it. Here's how I did it-

First I bored out the center of the ring using a large carbide burr. I only bored out the lower section so it now has a 14mm diameter hole all the way through. Then I bored out the upper plastic piece to 3/8" diameter and removed about 1mm from the backside center section where it steps down. I cut a small piece of 3/8" OD aluminum tubing and carved a gem from some scrap green acrylic sheet and epoxied into the tubing. The tubing and gem were then epoxied into the ring upper part.

Then I carved a pattern for a holder for the LED board and watch battery. This little piece is pretty tricky to make as it is press fit into the ring and it you have to be able to push the battery in there and still be able to take it all apart. It took some work to get this just right so it was as thin as possible and didn't stick out through the bottom of the ring and still allowed the top part of the ring to fit correctly. I still have to make a mold and cast the final piece.

The ring top is then reattached with hot glue- just enough so you could remove it if you have to. This is what the ring looks like with the LED off.

And here it is with the LED on. There is no switch and there just isn't any room for one- if the battery is in the ring is on.

Here's a better shot that shows it in a brightly lit room. In a dark room it's very bright.

I also modified the sides of my ring to remove all of the black paint and I changed the texture. I'm not quite done with that part yet.

Thats awesome! Thanks Honus!

How did you do the circut board/set up for the LED? I have some 3 mm LEDs on order and I'm curious how you set up your lighting. Thanks again!

It looks like this. You have to go with a very small surface mount LED. There simply isn't room for a standard LED- they're way too tall, even if you shave them down. You also want to use a resistor to limit the current to the LED or you'll eventually burn it out.

So does it have to be glued together every time you want it lit up, or did I miss something in the description? Also any idea of the price? Shipping should be cheap on somthing so tiny, which is good.

Will they come with everything assembled, or will they require soldering?
