Green Lantern Movie Ring

One more note: I'd exercise caution in dealing with the eBay seller "bondgallery"... They claim to be offering "Green Lantern Ring Authentic Registered" (whatever that means), but they use photos of the promo ring along with probably Zenix's ring in the description. Note the phrase: "this is the real thing". Sure thing...

If you mean the ring included with the unmasked Hal Jordan, it doesn't light up at all. It's actually just the known die cast version with a bit more paint (green and silver) added...

I could have sworn the picture they showed of it looked lit up. Of course that could just be more product photoshop work as well. You'd think we'd see two more series by now, since there are all those figs we need for the collect n connect figure.

Wow, that is crazy they show two different rings, its may not Zenix though, the band appears to be tapered more than his... And I do not think he had any with silver circle around the jewel, its def shady though!

Sooooo I just asked him few questions... Wait till he finds out I held the REAL ring and his "authentic registered Green Lantern ring, the exact ring as worn by Ryan Reynolds in the movie Green Lantern. To exacting detail, including a closed back, not an open one".... is ALL WRONG! I also asked how it can be exact when they have TWO different photos of TWO different rings, one of them can't be EXACT I watched Sesame Street too! :cool

This is the most elaborate and informative answer I have ever received as to why a shop can't send customers their product:

"Unfortunately our suppliers have advised us that we will not now be getting our full quota of this item, this is due to circumstances beyond our control. Once again I apologise for any inconvenience caused."

It isn't like I wanted a real answer anyway -_-

Ebay response!

Thank you for your questions. The photos we have, in one of them, the lighting reflects somewhat causing the photo to look different. These are not our marketing photos, nor does this contain everything in this sale. This was merely for information purposes only, to let people know, its on the way. Second, our merchandise is registered with the International Fine Art Gallery. Finally, as with many movie props, it requires an exacting detail for authenticity purposes with which we do. DC has their standards and we have ours and in these situations, they are similar. I hope this explains this better for you.

Seriously... Anyone have good reply for this crap? :thumbsdown

report him! Yay!

Oooo we all can do that, but I am going to get as much info FIRST, then we can all send ebay a notice that he stole that photo! That will get listing pulled very fast! This kinda crap these kinda people asking this type money just pisses me off! Sorry but I know how hard a lot you guys work on these things and then we get some tool doing this crap! Nice find by Serenity :thumbsup

Thank you for your continued interest in our gallery. Let me try and make this easy for you. Again, first, the photos, these come from the jewelers who are crafting these items. The glare off the flash makes one look slightly different in color than the other. The reason for early posting on EBAY was to let the public know these are coming, its like a preview for a movie. Our movie gallery is known worldwide for the athenticity of our products because we go to great lengths for validation, verificiation and certification. If you wait, when we finally have everything in place, you will be seeing photos of every angle of the ring, the interior, the engravings, the box, the registrations, the photo displays that come with it, the copy of the press EPK and more that will be contained in this offering. So the best I can say is standby and hold your questions till we post all the final products. Again, thanks for your interest.

How about asking him for a link to the "International Fine Arts Gallery" web site.

I am not over reacting am I? :angel I like to know how you guys feel about this?

I mean seriously he started this thing probably out of his garage in 2007 and hey its how most of us work... I am all for the side business, but cheap shadow boxes of crap, the KNOWN WORLDWIDE BS, ripping people off, and the stealing pics I can't let it go.

He said he is on vacation and said he give me his number when he returns... :rolleyes I would be on vacation too selling rings at $300 a pop...

I am going to give him chance to come clean on the phone before i tell him I worked on set for 5 1/2 months, the real ring was on my finger once and it DOES have an open back and then I am burning him with DC, ebay and who ever else I can.

Todd you have been pretty calm about this or you just not talking? :cool

... just a teeny bit :)

I understand the getting worked up bit, and the why, but believe me, at the end of the day, you are going to achieve nothing but increasing the chances of getting an ulcer.

He will keep on selling. eBay doesn't give a toss really. Only DC would be able to do something about it ... if they bother to.

I can't remember if I've already mentioned this, but technically using other people's personal photos (ie: that one of zenix's ring from yourprops) is a listing violation. I've had some people steal my photos before, and all it took was a chat with eBay for them to pull the auctions. (I was surprised they pulled them, considering it was the grey area of prop replicas, but I just had to show them the evidence and they listened.)

Keep in mind, this may only have worked because I personally took the photos, so the owner of that ring might have to report it themselves...

Ebay is pretty responsive to listing violations, I got reported for one once for trying to sell replica Lady Gaga razor glasses. They said that relating the item to her at all without being licensed is a listing violation.

They are on top of things. Omidyar built Ebay on the business model of complete customer service.

karius1978 blatantly recast my steel band into silver and is selling them. I confronted him about it and he said he made it himself and that it doesn't look like mine. you be the judge:

Pic in his auction of his ring:

One easy tell is this line circled in red here:
recast%252520band.jpg

Here's a pic of mine showing the blackened steel and standard steel bands, and you can clearly see the same line:

That line is on my steel ones and not on my silver ones(of which I've sold like 2 or 3). He recasted the steel one in silver and is selling it as his own. He couldn't figure out how to get the resin part to look good, and just panted it. also... no gemstone; just the light.

I saw this in your other thread. No luck in narrowing down your sales list to those in Florida to see if there were any matches?

people said the movie sucked!
:rolleyes Why not post something useful, or if you have nothing constructive to say, just stay out of it? It sounds like you haven't even seen the movie...
