Has anyone made a Green Hornet costume?
Accurate to the new movie?

I thought the new film was great and i would like to see anyones attempts at making the costume, especially the Green Hornets Mask!

Show em off! :)

i agree the movie was grand. made me cry laugh haha. so good. Green Hornets costume was pretty cool.

on second thought, does anyone know if Kato's leather gloves are custom made of bought somewhere???

i saw a fedora at target that looked fairly accurate to the movie. Kato's gloves looked familiar to me. Either someone in my family or someone at school had extremely similar/same gloves a while back

Haven't seen the movie myself, but from looking at production stills, I would definitely say the film hat is not a wool felt that one might find at Target, etc.

CY Productions . . Toys

Plus, Evolution on eBay makes coats and hats as well.

Wes

CY only makes the classic TV series stuff. I'm not sure if the movie hat differed in any way as far as design, but in color the movie hat looks darker.
$200 for a made-to-measure fedora is not bad but it may have something to do with the quality of felt used. If it's a good fur felt then I think that hat is a good bargain.

the costume in the movie? cool!
any plans for the gas gun?

as for the movie, the actual acting of seth rogan? ugh! i have some love of the original series and comic books, and rogan crapped on the character.

most accurate way to sum up the movie.
the green hornet was a playboy, not a fratboy :rolleyes

theres alot of good hero movies coming out recently, but this one really lost it's footing.
Kato vision was a great concept though.
if it were someone like George Clooney rather than Rogan, it would have been better.

I have a screen accurate Chesterfield Top coat from the original TV Series. I had intended on finishing the costume one of these days but I think I've given up on that notion. I had intended on getting the mask and Fedora, but never did. I've considered selling it and putting it up on eBay or in the Junkyard, but they're so rare and difficult to find one with the right details. But since I'm not going to finish it, I'd probably let it go for the right offer. Watch the junkyard or send me a PM if anyone is interested.

I haven't looked at the details of the new movie yet though. I'm waiting to see it first. I wouldn't mind having a new mask.

LOVED the new Seth Rogen film . Haven't done the NEW version yet but i have the TV style costume in my wardrobe . No where close to 100% accurate but i think it looks Kool !

Being that I am a crazy dead ringer for Seth Rogen (seriously, with the exception of the lack of the fro we have similar face, body, and expressions) I know I'm set to do the costume from the movie.

I'm in Philly, so with my proximity to NYC I'm planning on some point going fedora hunting in the city. I'm thinking pretty much everything wardrobe I'll be able to purchase, except I'll have to have the mask made and probably will have to fabricate the jacket.

This is not a true replica of the film or the TV show, but a blend of both, I dont have any photos of the coat yet, the replica gas gun is not complete, I need to do some finnishing touches on the gloves, but my nephew is going to wear it for Halloween this year. The vintage 60's sharkskin suit has a great black and green luster that made me decide to build the costume. The fedora was the hardest part. I wanted to use the 60's style fedora. The replica hats often have too large of a brim and the felt is usually wool. I searched long and hard to find a green hat that was in the same style. The hat I found is not a true green but looks green or greyish green in some lights, which is much like the one on the TV show I remember, of course everything looks different on film.

I believe the fedora actually used in the film is by Mr. Green custom hats. If I remember right they are pretty pricey...in the $200-300 range.

Im trying to find some close up screanshots of the Hornet Sting Ray Gun. To make a replica of it. This is the only pic I could find.

Tales of The Green Hornet
Hornet is armed with his traditional gas gun, as well as a telescoping cane referred to as the Hornet’s Sting. Using ultrasonic waves, the device is handy for blasting open locked doors and the like.
