Grand Theft Auto V - Official Gameplay Video

I liked the James Bond car mission they did :D

Broke down and bought it, just past the first heist and I'm just not digging the story. It's a technical marvel, but I just don't give a crap about the characters at all. I've yet to have a moment where I thought "this is fun." None of the humor is doing it for me, all the radio stations suck, and while I get the thought process behind it, I don't look forward to having to play tennis and spend hours at the gun range just to be functional later in the game.

The cars handle slightly better than GTA4, but not as well as I'd like (or I'm just bad at it). I've given up using the e-brake at all, I can't find the sweet spot where I maintain control in a turn with it outside of Franklin-vision. And would it kill them to give me a bigger targeting reticle than just a dot? It's bad enough figuring out what I'm aiming at on foot, forget aiming while driving.

Maybe I'll like it more as I get further in, but so far it's just feeling like all style and no substance. I worry though about a game that has me wondering "when does this start being fun?"

You're not a very good driver are you? ;) I didn't have any problem with the e-break in GTA4 neither do I have any in 5.
Check the options menu for a different cross hair

I've never played any of the GTA games, but bought this at Gamestop with reservation. I haven't opened it yet and part of me isn't even sure why I purchased it.

Is this one of those games you have to do story mode, or can you just wander around online and dork around at will? I just don't know how many hours you are required to invest in the game and I don't have a lot of free time to do a deep story game. I like games I can go in and out of whenever.

Is this not one of those games?

The online portion which launches Oct 1st is the game you want to play

I must not be. In Saints Row I could hold the e-brake down and execute a perfect 90 degree drift before releasing it, in GTA I barely tap the e-brake and I fish tail so wildly half the time I end up pointed the opposite direction of what I wanted. Feels like driving on ice with butter tires.

:lol that is exactly what happened when I started playing GTA4. But then after a while I could easily pull off those high speed 90 degree corner drift you see in movies. Not with all of the cars mind you, some of them, like the Sultan RS are a bit more difficult to master.

I'm at about 50% completion and I mostly have enjoyed the game. However, I've found that most of the missions just aren't memorable at all and I'm very disappointed with the music this time around. All the way back to GTAIII, I can think of at least one station or setlist of songs that quickly became favorites... but on V, I'm constantly turning the channel or just turning it off.

I'm actually starting to get into it more now.

I've been practicing with the controls, and some which felt counter-intuative, now feel ok.....

Also been practicing with the hand brake......some cars just don't like it and slither around like wet fish...others are fantastic!

Won my first race, well, i was in a stolen Veyron.....lol....

Yeah, i'm liking this more and more!

Hookers still wont get into my helicopter or jet plane. One would imagine this would have been fixed by now as its not easy landing a jet plane on a city street where hookers congregate.

I just bought this at the weekend, well my wife bought it for me not knowing what she was letting herself in for. So far I'm loving it, the huge open-world landscapes are nothing short of breathtaking, I can certainly see the Red Dead Redemption influence on certain areas of the map.

I noticed on the Rockstar social club that you can create or join a crew, maybe we should get an RPF crew together and show the world just how we roll?

Daniel.

That would be a nice idea, could even create a RPF emblem in the emblem editor:
socialclub.rockstargames.com/emblems/New
Which I think you will be able to use on in-game clothing and what have you. Someone should start it sooner rather than later since the online portion launches tomorrow :D :D

I started one in the middle of august and so far it's a great idea. Especially since it's supported by more than one game.

I don't mind setting a group up, I'll check with Art first though to make sure it would be OK to do so.

The RPF crew is now ready to join for those who wish. I still need to create the custom logo and try and replicate the RPF logo as it seems importing an image is not available for your crew icon :(

You can find the crew at:- Rockstar Games Social Club - The RPF

Hope to see some of you there!

Dan.

i joined and made the rpf logo and uploaded it to the crews page, you can select it to use if you want, or you can make your own, mine is a little off with the spacing between the letters, but man that emblem creator is a pain for technical stuff.

Yeah, it's not the most intuitive of interfaces, I'll take a look and change the logo!

I got it opening day, and I don't know yet. It like playing it for about 45 minutes, but then I get tired of it. In GTA4 I got to just rampage and blow things up, but in this one it's just a bit too difficult to do that. And I hate the shooting element of it. I suck for some reason.

I think your enjoyment of the game will increase once the online portion is available, for me the online stuff is always far more fun than the story mode. What part of the shooting element are you having trouble with?

Dan.
