These both came yesterday. Both signature editions. Snapped off a few quick pics while opening them up. Really nice work on both I think. Especially considering this is it from MR as far as high end lightsabers. Glad I got ordered both!

I'm still confused as to how MR is able to sell a Jeff Parks design... Jeff designed and built that Mara Saber back for LFL back when he had a good working relationship with them, iirc. Maybe it's LFL taking one last snub at him for winning the lawsuit about whether or not he could build EL sabers.

You said it right there. He worked for LFL. Therefore, intellectual rights are theirs. If he was working for them and they asked him to design a lightsaber, the design is theirs. Most companies to this.

Thanks for posting the pics - I've got them both on order and can't wait to get them!!!

Pics look awesome!

That looks great.

Glad to see that the V2 is finally shipping (still waiting on mine).

What's your opinion of the paint job of the Skywalker V2?

He actually made them for Dechiper Cards, not LFL, and IIRC he retained some of the rights (if not all) for the design.

LFL would still own the rights through Decipher.
I think Jeff thinks he owns the rights. It's not like he cares about stepping on LFL's rights.

I thought Jeff owned part of the design, or the right to produce it, or something- even thought LFL owned it. Or something ?

I'm not privy, I was trying to remember what I heard years ago.

Awesome sabers BTW !!

I think ultimately Lucasfilm basically owns everything "Star Wars" related. I'm sure they covered their bases on this one. The paint app. on the V2 looks pretty nice to me. I'm not an expert but it looks appropriately worn.

I have both on order and set for delivery on Thursday. I can't wait until they come in...it'll be like Christmas all over again :D

That is model Shannon McRandle, or Shannon Baksa at the time...

She was once the Star Wars Insider and Decipher model for Mara Jade and has since become a minor convention personality as a result of her photo shoots.

The Mara saber is nice! Did the proto shown a while back have black in the grooves on the mid section? I'm glad the weathering looks good on the V2's. I thought they were going to wuss out slightly and make it very minimal, a few scratches here and there, but it sure does look pretty bashed and worn :) I might have to try and pick one of these up at some point. Now that people have these in hand, has anybody come any closer to identifying what the long lever might have come from? Does the pommel or emitter rotate on this? I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that it did on the orginal prop... Thanks for posting pics! Does anybody have a side by side comparison picture of this with their MR hero, or a stunt?
Thanks!

Both look great, but who signed the Mara jade Saber?

She is SUPER sweet in person.

I made a Mara Jade costume for my 8 year old daughter and she wore it to a local convention. I'm sure Shannon McRandle spends all day with little girls dressed like Mara, but she could not have been nicer.

She made my daughter feel like she was right out of a Star Wars movie, going on and on about her costume and how much she loved it. She sounded very sincere and honest, which meant everything to my daughter.

Even if she was faking interest, you couldn't tell. She was a total professional and a real sweetheart. If she had been a jerk toward my daughter, it would have broken my heart. She was great.

We got an autograph and pictures !

She even got up and took a picture with me at the request of some fans who saw me standing next to her as we got our autograph.

(yes, she is tall and she's wearing heels. I'm 6'4" in costume)
