I'm looking to glue some sintra to the inside of my rubies vader supreme chest armor and looking for the best glue to use. Any insight is greatly appreciated. The easier to find the better!

I've always like using PlastiStruct's plastic weld, but for gluing armor you might want something a little more heavy duty. I'd recommend checking out the forums over at the 501st.

Alot of TK builders, seem to like E6000 glue. It doesn't melt the plastic like some glues do, so it makes removing spillages easier (excess can be shaved off with a sharp blade).

Only downside is that it needs 24 hours to cure properly, so it's no good if you are looking for a fast build.

I've put together quite a few sets of Stormtrooper armor using CA glue (Great Planes brand). The set I wear was put together with CA glue, and I have been wearing it ever since Celebration IV without the need to reglue anything.

Don't know why I didn't think of CA glue! Thanks! I'll give it a try. I might even have some laying around.

I've always heard that Gorilla Glue is the best for gluing just about anything, so that might make an acceptable second choice. But I have no personal experience with either armored costumes or Gorilla Glue itself, so I can't say for sure that it would work correctly for what you're doing. :unsure

I've been using some gorilla super glue and love it. It does fog you piece like regular super glue does and I love that!!

That's one thing E6000 won't do- dries without discoloring anything.

I was researching the right glues to use for binding gems onto backings (in my case, a little green crystal for my Luke RotJ lightsaber) and E6000 doesn't cloud clear surfaces it's applied to when it dries.

And there's tons of E6000 on eBay, if that helps (not directed at you, jhusel :lol)

Is E6000 easier to work with than 2-part epoxy? 'Cuse thats what I end up using when I have clear parts, and its kind of a pain sometimes...

Well, when E6000 hardens, it isn't the really hard plastic that standard 2-part epoxy is... It turns into more of a rubber when it's cured.

That's its biggest difference from from what I've gathered.

EDIT: I have no idea how easy to work with it is compared to normal epoxy, as I haven't worked with it yet:lol
