Hey guys !

Im back with a new AT-ST ! Few may remember I tried to build one but Ive been told it was way off (thanks Steve). It was way to small and I used kitparts instead of scratchbuild them. That was a big sh|t :D

I want a fully stop-motion model.

I planning to reproduce this one :

That's the one which is touring in Europe, not the other one which was touring in Asia and South America (which is in the famous pic with Tippett).

Some pics (first with my old AT-ST head which was based on the 2 footer) :

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

Looking great.Man I wish I had the talent to scratch build.

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

Words fail me... how do you scratch stuff to this level of perfection?... :confused

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

You rule bro lol, yeah that one from the Japanese site is way wrong, for too small and using the kit parts labeled out in the published plans will get you nowhere fast (we both know that huh bro lol)
Awesome work Julien, cant wait to see the updates.

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

Those plans will get you a pretty nice looking ESB ATST though- speaking from experience...lol

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

Thanks you guys ! :D

Yeah Isel, mainly to build the legs ! The head looks a bit like the large ROTJ 2 footer but with kit parts used on the TESB !

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

That's looking terrific! I made a digital one (my avatar) for a project and I know how complex it can be.

Can't wait to see more!

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

Thanks guys !!

Yeah Matt, I dont want to be stuck with this one forever, a lot of project to do and life is so short... :lol

Thanks Stonky !! I think I know your CG AT-ST, looks very familiar to me, I saved pics of it in my computer, cant remember when I found them but it was the best CG AT-ST Ive ever seen !

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

Thanks bro !

It's still not perfect, some little bits remain unknown for me, like the little square on the side panels of the head (but they were probably scratchbuilt).
I would like to thank you bro, Isel and Matt for all your help and support on this project ! Without youo guys, I would be stuck on this project !

Thanks ! :thumbsup

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

I sent another possible ID last night, a small one.. but it looks pretty close to my eyes.

Thanks bro !

Ok gonna check that Matt ! Thanks ;)

Well TBH my knowledge of the AT-ST is very limited in comparison of yours !

Re: Studio Scale ROTJ AT-ST full scratch

Hey guys,

Ive done a bit more on it...
I did quickly a plug for the fenders then I vacformed it :

Then I cut the two fenders out of this vacformed shape and added the stripes

I also put the flakvierling shields and the Ford engine parts (and the parts on the back of those ones).
I sprayed a coat of primer on the chassis and on the scratchbuilt 8rad part. Unfortunatly the 8 rad part felt on my deck and it's full of dust ! I have to sand it and repaint it.

I m attaching some of my ref pics to show you the proportions.
I have to add the hexagonal rods on both side of the chassis, the dome of the underside, the 3 plates on the front top, small bits on the circled base of neck, the parts linked to the ford engine parts, all the screws and the rear part of the underside chassis.

(oops I just noticed that the stripes on the fender are a bit too wide :s)

Hope you like guys...
