what is a good glue that will dry clear and be suitable for gluing clear plastic?

It really depends on what you are doing... Someone suggested Future floor polish in another thread... It probably won't be real strong but it is damn clear...

You can hit and miss with some of the two part epoxies, some dry clear and some get a yellow tint to them...

Future floor polish as glue?? hmmm. I just want the glue to not be visible through the clear piece.

I use "Plastic-weld" - It's a watery glue that comes in a jar, that melts styrene and creates a very strong bond.
You brush it on with a small paintbrush.

Superglue will likely fog your clear section, and most epoxies won't even bond to styrene.

Zap Industries and pretty much all of the others make odorless CA glues that won't craze the clear parts. Zap calls it Zap-O, others just basically call it what it is, an odorless CA.

Testors liquid cement works just as well. it's pretty much the same thing as the Weldon that others have mentioned. it comes in a bottle with a brush, but for applying it to the clear parts i would use a more narrow tool.

I've actually used Elmers plain white glue on parts such as cockpit bubbles and the likes with great results. It does dry clear and is reasonably strong enough to stand the test of time. And since the clear parts are usually not even touch upon inspecting/admiring a model Elmers is a great option for me.
