This is the modified cockpit.
I am lucky that I have tons of photos etched laying around . So I cut out the back half of the cockpit pit and scratch built a new . So on this model I used soldering wire , for the hoses. But I use various size guitar strings for my current build , which I wild at some pics . The pilot is from 3d Falcon , in which I removed all the pockets and straps/ belts.I also removed the vest and life support module from his chest . I then fabricated the pockets and straps/ belts , vest from tape .I was very pleased in the way that the vest turned out , because the edges are slightly lifted and give a more realistic effect. And on the pilots I added his orange tinted visor. This was cut out of clear film , then tinted orange. I was really happy with it , because you can see the pilots face through the visor

!

Excellent detailing on.... well everything!

I had to laugh. The first thought to cross my mind when I saw this picture was: "Who is the little guy in the yellow jumpsuit climbing to the top?".

Beautiful detailing upgrades! Friendship and unconditional goodwill are still alive & well these days? Well, hot damn—absolutely love it!

is it on purpose, that the picture on the bottom shows red one but your marking have red five?
No , it was just supposed to show and describe a X-Wing in general. But I can see what your saying . I built and gave to a nother friend a tie fighter and on that build , I put a imagine of a tie fighter pilot.
What do you think of the star field background ? The guy that I gave the X-Wing to like it .But I am not sure if I what to use it on up coming builds .And thank you for the likes!

Very inspiring mods you’ve done there. Your friend is really lucky! I love your weathering too.
Thank you so much ! I did all of it with Tamiya weathering masters . And instead of using oil paints for weathering , I just dip my fine tip paint brush in water and touch color I want to streak and on to the model .And to fix how I wanted the streak to look , I would use a clean brush with water and brushed off what it did want . And for the soot look I just used the applicator that came withe the weathering kit .

Thank you and much appreciated. The fine molds X-wing that I am currently working on ,in which the pics of the improved cockpit was at the end of my post will have fiber optics and LED's. I am also doing a complete cockpit on a fine molds tie fighter. I will show everything as my builds progress. Also planning to try studio scale . Have a great day !

One thing that I want to mention, what I think that help with the look of this build , is that I only outlined some panels , and not so dark on the ones that I did do . But that's my opinion!

Nicely done! Love the details.

I really like the display, it's very proffesional.
Finding ways to display models is hard though, mine are currently sitting under towels as dust covers until I come up with a cabinet.

When I was painting some WWII aircraft I saw quite a few guys simply stick them to the wall. Was kind of cool.

Cheers,
Josh
