Giant Wings make for Weird Walking

I'm currently planning out my Heaven's Wheel Armor for Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail. The wings are the same length as her height. They won't be heavy with the materials I'm making, but they're going to be unwieldy and hard to walk through doors with. Does anyone have any ideas?

incorporate some kind of hinge system to allow them to fold back if needed. That should help

I will definitely look into it. I didn't even think of using hinges.

I would even check out a pull/spring load so they will pull back into position
