Well, after weeks of intense gaming, it's time to get back to work. I played the living hell out of Fallout 4, clocking in about 350 hours of gameplay, spread through two different playthroughs. Certainly a lot to love about it, although I had a lot of complaints, many of the same complaints I'm sure you guys have already experienced or heard about.
But complaints are unimportant here. Here is where the prop building is done, so I'll carry on.
I absolutely had to make the new Mini Nuke. I actually find it's one of the few things that changed for the better, although honestly both versions still look very much alike. So, naturally, I begin with modeling it. I've done just that, using the original game model. What do you guys think?

Here's the original model renders. I've noticed there are actually two different textures the new game used, this is the more 3d looking texture. The texture shown when you examine the item in your inventory is very 2d-looking, and it's difficult to tell exactly how the details are. The texture I used, as seen in the pic, gives more conclusion to the details and highlights the raised bands that go across the bomb's main body.

I've been long overdue to print my Fallout 3 mini nuke model, now I'm even more excited to print both versions out, and have together for side by side comparison. I plan on beginning the printing for both nukes on my M2 this weekend.
Aside from this, I'm nearly finished modeling the new T-51 helmet. Updates on that will be on my Power Armor helmets thread, though.
As for things that actually pertain to this thread, I'm just about done with my Frag Grenade kits (Fallout 3 version).

As noted before, model courtesy of
lilykill. I printed the model up, mastered all the pieces (all pieces not shown), and have been slowly cold casting the pieces up. Just need to finish up my mold for the top lever. I hope to be painting soon, looking forward to hanging up some grenade bouquets. The cold casting makes them nice and heavy, too. They feel very realistic in my hands. This was certainly a fun project to work on, for sure. I'm quite satisfied with how the brass casted end pieces are turning out.
I'm also finally nearing total completion on my first Ballistic Fist. All I really need is a couple rivets and the glove. I hope to be completing it soon, as it's already pretty much done and detailed. Still have not started on the other two, though. That's the trouble with doubles, you make the first and sort of fizzle after that. I hope to find some time soon to finished them up. But, with all things, I'm making more crap than I have time for, so everything drags out for a while.
Anyhow, more to come soon.
