Re: GHOSTBUSTERS PAPER PROP

Sometimes, you just gotta watermark it and only distribute to those you know.

Nah... Load it, photoshop the watermark away, and the picture is ready so sell... This is not a good solution...

I did that sometimes, to get a picture from a prop. Maybe thats not the correct way to get some stuff for free, but I dont sell it at all, its just for my personal collection, so I think thats ok...

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS PAPER PROP

As some know, I'm the past owner of the original OMNI cover. And sadly, even when I had it, this...

It wasnt me...

I remember someone send me the cover via email... I think you send me the cover, it was a little bit darker, and in October was the "r" missing... A few weeks later there were other OMNI Magazines n the Forum...

Maybe its time for the website www.ippdb.com

The international Paper Prop Data base... :)

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS PAPER PROP

Well, if people are going to stop making contributions because they know their work will be stolen and go to pad some Bill S. Preston's looking jaggoff's bank account... everybody here on the RPF loses out!

GJustice: I was unaware you used to have that original prop! VERY COOL!

What a smashing Idea!!!!

Database of all paper props devided into secions, and makers names fully credited!!!?

I would be totally up for that!

On a different note, Paper prop.....Tobins Spirit guide etc?

Here's a tutorial on how to make a copy of Tobin's Spirit Guide for pretty cheap.
http://www.ghostbustersinternational.com/tobins2.htm
It's an interesting idea.
Personally, I always wanted one that looks ancient. I thought the guide would be some sort of extremely rare, medieval text. After reading about it, though, it's from the 1900's (I'm thinking 20's or so) and relatively new.
I was going to use a technique similar to this to make an old, spooky book for practically nothing:

Not too sure how I'm going to go about it now. It just doesn't feel right that it's in a normal, new looking text.

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS PAPER PROP

I try to print the picture in some bif sizes, but it looks not so nice...

As for the ippdb site, yes, that would be a nice idea, people can add their own work, alternative versions... But I think there were a lot of people who dont want to see their work their, and a lot of people will download just everything to make a quick dollar on ebay... Thats not so nice, so before its time for site like that, the prop world must change a little bit...

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS PAPER PROP

If a file is being posted publicly for public view and use, you are going to have to expect or at least assume that it will get used in just about any way imaginable. I do believe personally that selling someone else art without permission is a form of stealing and I believe the CoC will be modified to such to try to at least stop others from doing this in the future without some consequence. I also would like to see a private forum section for paper props that would at least help keep such views down to members only. But that still may not stop a member from doing this again, just make it more difficult for them to do so. Some thing to keep in mind when posting such works. If you are really nervous about something geting out, the only other solution is e-mailing the graphics out. Even then, that is not always an absolute.

Re: GHOSTBUSTERS PAPER PROP

Understood tripoli,Maybe upon registration therpf can ask for ebay user id's just to keep track of who sells throughout the Forums/junkyard and who lurks the forums looking for freebies.I also think if your not a registered member you should not be able to access anything from this message board idk just my opinion.Sorry I'm going off topic i know this has nothing to do with ghostbuster props i just thought i'de shoot out my opinion :unsure
