Ghostbusters

Hey everyone. I've been meaning to post in this thread for oh, a little over 3 years. Some on RPF know me as a BTTF fan, which I am. Others here who are also on or run GB sites know me as Spengs, the "Director of Franchise Operations" for Ghostbusters International. I also run "there/" well my The real Ghostbusters web site, Ectocontainment.com.

As the webmaster for GBI over the last 10 years I finally completed updating the "paperwork" that's been on and off the site for years.

Most of the paperwork came from the original West End Games RPG. With a slight exception most of it was updated/recreated by me.

I wrote a blog update this afternoon about it all. I've been wanting to share it here too. All files are 200 res.

Franchise Application

I created this one, believe it or not this wasn't on the site going back to 2003.

Dr. Venkman Welcome Letter

Dr. Venkman welcomes new franchise with his "personal" letterhead. Truthfully if I ever decide to recreate it, I wouldn't just use the standard corporate "form."

Louis Tully Franchise Welcome Letter

This wasn't originally on the site. As a real personal touch I use to email new franchises with a letter on a GBI letterhead from myself or maybe Louis. Louis' letter comes from the original RPG. I even used his "signature" when updating the letter for the 21 Century.

GBI Franchisee Contract

The original from the RPG is 2 pages. I retyped it letter by letter, making slight changes to update it for the 21 Century. Really, it isn't much of a joke to watch PBS television these days and why would anyone "have" to light a candle at the end of each day? Also, it wouldn't necessarily be that exciting that GBi would offer a maintenance package.

Here is the first contract "page." Remove 1 and type 2 and so on until page 8. Or visit the Forms area of the GBI site for everything I'm talking about here too.

Release From Damages

Pretty much taken from the RPG. I updated some of the text and signage area. I also removed the original "notary" seal and made a brand new one using an image of a real notary seal and the "no ghost" logo. It's simple, I like it.

GBI Billing Form

I know from an official prop invoice, it's been recreated and reworked through the years. One of our members created a new version I believe prior to the GB II prop invoice surfacing on-line. I took our updated invoice and made a new one mostly because I didn't have the original file and make it more universal, well global.

GBI Work Order

In the early days of GBI's web presence friend and GBNJ "CEO" Bill Malkin made this GBI work order. Only thing I did for 2013 was update the letterhead.

US EPA Temp Permit

The original came from the RPG book. However by 2004 it was looking dated. I don't know if the original was changed just enough not to resemble a real EPA form from the 1980s. In 2004 we knew it should be updated. Bill (who was my original co-admin) updated the EPA permit. Which worked and would work today. Problem was I didn't have the original PSD file. Last year I took a smaller version of the image and recreated it, even using real EPA papers for reference.

GBI Blank Stationary/Letterhead

Through the years I've offered a blank "universal" GBI letterhead for any franchise to use. I can offer the PSD file if someone wanted to add there franchise logo and information instead.

In the past we've had business cards and IDs. I know other fans have posted there versions here. I know other GB "franchises" have made there own. In a future update I will most likely make new cards and IDs as well.

If I can offer any other GB paper props like those or something else I will.

Enjoy. :cool

Many many thanks for the share - these are great - plus as well as my "many other" projects "Tobins Spirit guide" is one of the one I'll be working on in the future so all this will be really useful in completing the display - all I need now is a PKE METER, and GHOST TRAP

Thanks again

Thanks for the kinds words. In regards to Tobin's Spirit Guide I think the link to it's area on GBI was posted on the forums. I know I saw some links back to the site. It could be a good starting point if you're not planning on making a 100% original. Which would be amazing if a ghosthead made a complete original. Using history, the movies, the cartoon, maybe comics, and GB: TVG for full reference. I know occasionally it's attempted. I don't know if anyone really would want to put that much energy into that type of massive graphics project.

Here is the direct link to GBI's Tobin's section. Full credit goes to Fifthrider for using his company's resources at one time to do this for us.

Were you planning on making the P.K.E Meter and ghost trap or buying Matty Collector's official versions? I'm not much of a prop builder and bought both. I had to wait to buy the trap and missed buying from Matty by a couple of days. :eek I was able to buy one without bidding from an eBay seller in my own state too. I didn't have to pay much of a mark up, even with the shipping.

Ghostbusters International Forms - Transfer Request

You're welcome.

While talking about the updated "corporate" documents a ghosthead asked me about a transfer request form. Honestly I hadn't thought about it. Within 24 hours I did a little research. I found a sample form and changed the text a little to suit "our" needs.

I didn't get a chance to blog about it until today. The "franchise" transfer request form is in the Forms section of GBI.

Thanks for the mention. I've seen that Tobin's I scanned used by many, and while I don't care about getting any credit, it's a put off when the poster claims it was theirs. I slaved over a hot scanner for hours to make that into a PDF. HOURS!!! ( Too dramatic? ) Thanks, and I'm glad someone's getting some use out of it.

Not a problem. Anytime I talk about the Tobin's book/file I either mention you by name/handle and sometimes tell the 1 person :p whose interested how it came into being.

Fortunately best I know I have never seen "the" file reproduced to be sold on popular auction sites.

I'd also prefer to see either you/GBI get credit if people share the file. A link back to the GBI Tobin page might be nice, that might be too much to ask for. If it makes you feel slightly better the general information contained within the file credits you and mentions GBI. If the file has been copied a lot, (don't know actual numbers, may need to check) that information has been copied time and time again as well.

*edit* Here's some quick stats if interested: Recently (within almost the last month) 617 people accessed the Tobin's PDF directly. Within the same period of time 315 people accessed the GBI Tobin's page.

*edit* Also while looking at the Tobins PDF file you sent me, it was last modified on July 13, 2006!

Hey all, I'm new to this forum but I just want to say it's amazing! I am slowly building a Ghostbusters collection. I'm pretty broke and some stuff on sites like ebay are going for huge money, so it's great to see guys who are willing to share props like these for free. They will make great additions to my collection. I feel bad just taking stuff while offering nothing in return but I will definitely start uploading stuff once I get some together. Thanks again.

Saw AJ Quick posted some Venkman Zener cards. I have been obsessing over these very hard to re-create film quality replica's based on these screenshots:

My layered print-ready photoshop file can be downloaded at: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/kjhrpf/GhostbustersVenkmanZenercardsLayers_highrez_1a.psd

Dimensions are 5x7 at 300px resolution...

Hope you like it! Let me know what you think. It's my first attempt at creating video realistic props like this. Let me know if you would like a front-back PDF created so you can print them out perfectly...

These cards are standard Jumbo ESP Bicycle Back cards, available from magic trick suppliers. Here is one that I found after a quick "google" http://www.themagicgadgetsite.com/index1.html?4558.html&1

Hope it helps.

These jumbo cards are not screen accurate. The stroke on the shapes is incorrect and the waves are too perfect. I was recreating the cards based on my screenshots :) Hope I got the accuracy correct. But who knows...

True they are not SA, going off the wavy lines it looks as if they may have been hand drawn, which leads me to believe they probably used Blank Jumbo's, not sure if it would be possible to print onto them, but it may be worth a try, at least the card stock and Back would be 100% accurate. Just trying to help.

That is awesome! Thanks a lot. I've been trying to figure out how I was going to print these out. Great find, sir.

Hi, I am not sure an inkjet printer is recommanded for this job, because playing cards are on glossy paper.
Maybe laser or copier.

I was just thinking about Ghostbusters paper props last night... like the "Maid Service Please" door hanger from the beginning of the film. Does anyone have good screencaps/replica of that?

Get the file to me, and I can get these printed on plastic!

The text is wrong, and it has the name of a particular hotel chain added at the bottom, but I've got a Maid sign with the correct artwork on it.

I was wondering the other day if there was a place that could print it into plastic. Shouldn't be too hard to fix the text.

Best of all, it's got the matching 'Do Not Disturb' art on the opposite side. I suspect when Jennifer returned at, say, 8 o'clock, Venkman would have flipped the sign around the other way.
