Gemini Productions- Still Around?

Gone but not forgotten.
Hey guys, I'm trying to find current contact info for Gemini Productions who used to come to Wonderfest every year. They made some beautiful roto/pressure cast prop kits, but they're probably best known for their big TAC Fighter from "Starship Troopers"

Anyone know if they're still around?

Thanks!

I....uhhh...have some bad news for you. The man behind Gemini was Ross Smith (in case you didn't know his name). He took his life about 3 years ago.

He left behind a wife and two children.:(

Oh man, that's awful! I haven't been able to get down to WF for about the last 3-4 years and never heard about this. Any idea why? He was a really good artist, and his castings were absolute top of the line!

When I dealt with them a few years ago, I dealt with a guy named Dave, whom I thought was the proprietor. Could be wrong though.

OK I found the old business card and it ws indeed a guy named Dave. I'm withholding more info for now. I called and received and answering machine message which also had the name Dave on it. I did leave a message at the number on the card - we'll see if they call.

Sgt, no idea why he did what he did. I was trying to find him to ask him some questions and found this info out on The Clubhouse forum.

PHA, Maybe he wasn't the only one with Gemini? Maybe he had partners? I was told he was the owner of two companies, Gemini and GraveWax designs.
Here's the PM I received over on the CH...

"As far as GraveWax, I think that was one of HIS brands, that and Gemini Productions. I'm pretty sure Gemini handled castings for other companies, and GW was the things he tooled and cast for his OWN. That being said, I could be wrong. I know there were other folks involved, but he was the heart of those companies. As far as rights for production go, I really couldn't say, but maybe someone will respond to your original post. If I find out anything more, I'll let you know."

That very well could be. At the time I was dealing with Dave (I had talked to him on the phone), he referred to Gemini as "we" - such as "We obtained and original Kilngon disruptor from ebay, and remastered it."

SgtFang, I have their TAC Fighter, and the disruptor. Is there anything I might be able to help with?

Hope I didn't sound like I was questioning you, all the info I have was obtained second or third hand, take it for what it's worth.

I hope Gemini/GW isn't gone, they made some cool items.
