Game of Thrones

As expected people were greatly over-thinking things, but the ending bothered me a bit. The way that Jaquen said she "had finally become no one" and then smiled when Arya replied "a girl is Arya Stark" has me wondering if they're going to pull some twist down the road where this Arya isn't the real Arya, but thinks that she is.

Oh I hope they don't try and pull something like that. Sounds too far fetched even for this show where someone with serious abdominal wounds is now running and jumping through the city and then fighting afterwards. I mean, at least they showed that her wounds had opened back up, but still.

And yeah, I think the rumor Qyburn was talking about is the cache of wildfire that was talked about back in season 2. Tyrion knew about it, but I don't recall him telling Cersei about it. I don't remember if he mentioned it to her in the books at all.

Well Jaime knew about it, that's why he killed the king. He told Brienne about it and he could have mentioned it to Cersei at some point.

Of course they could be talking about anything really, but you have to wonder what else it could be now that she can no longer demand trial-by-combat. Seems like she'll have to fight the whole city to get out of it at this point.

It should be interesting to see what happens and no matter what happens I'm sure sure of who to root for. On one hand, I can't stand Cersei, she's a serious b*tch who's nowhere near as smart or clever as she thinks she is and totally deserves everything that comes to her, but on the other hand, I can't stand the High Sparrow and his followers either because I can't stand religious zealots either. I suppose the best I can hope for is for Cersei to lose but in doing so she lets loose FrankenMountain and seriously wrecks the High Sparrows movement.

Mutually assured destruction....I can get with that. But yeah I'm in the same boat. Never been a Cersei fan, but in this struggle against the High Sparrow, I'll definitely root for her. She does need her comeuppance as well, though. I always imagined it where she's travelling back to Casterly Rock and gets attacked by Nymeria and her super wolf pack, with Arya experiencing the whole thing through her wolf dreams aka warging. This is more plausible in the books though as the show has not shown that Arya has these dreams. I hope she makes it back ti Westeros and gets back to checking names off her list. :D

I'm glad to see the Brotherhood without Banners is still the group "protecting the common man" rather than slaughtering at will without much reason.

I could be wrong, but based on the trailers for next week, it looks as though Jon Snow may not be on the winning end of the battle of the bastards. I have a feeling he'll be left without an army.

I also hate that I kind of feel bad for Cersei and find myself rooting for her now

Thank goodness that Jaquen theory was unfounded. And thanks for letting Jaquen live as well. Poor Blackfish.

Was there ever more build up for a character that did nothing than for the Blackfish? Of course, we haven't seen his body so he's not dead dead yet.

- I'm glad Dany is back. The crap that's been going on in Mereen just seems kinda slapdash. Also, what the hell is with Lannisters trusting religious fanatics? Seriously, that was a bush-league move from Tyrion, and I'm disappointed in him. Funny scene with the joking, though. Also, I think we can expect to see the Ironborn fleet sail into Slaver's Bay to break the siege.
- Bummer about the Blackfish, but frankly, I don't see how he'd be all that useful. I hope that the Tully army is able to back Sansa, though, alongside the knights of the Vale. Because Ramsey has GOT to get got.
- The thing with Arya...again just seems sort of...hastily resolved. Like "We tried to kill you but, eh, whatevs. Have fun in Westeros! Hey, try to save the faces if you can and send 'em back here, k? Bye!"
- What rumor is Cersei investigating? Does anyone know? Has this been previously covered or is it meant to be a mystery? My recollection is that it hasn't been touched on. We established the "New Little Birds" ring, but otherwise, nothing on this.

I expect to see a fire breathing dragon, or three, strafing the fleet and burning it to the bottom of the bay.

I don't see the Tully army being allowed to go north. Jaime promised not to harm them, correct, not to let them go.

I think Jaquen was waiting for Arya to go full Arya Stark. He was in Westeros for a reason.

I was thinking the rumor had something to do with Sansa being alive or about Dany gathering armies.

I wonder if the Faceless Men still have a contract out on Dany? They don't seem to be in a rush about it.

When was this?

Agreed. That seemed like an odd way to go for them. This makes more sense.

They never actually hired a Faceless Man. Cersei, in one of her ravings talked about it, but then someone smacked her down by pointing out that the treasury was broke and they didn't have the funds to do so, as I recall.

There's also a theory that's been floating around forever that Jaquen and Syrio, Arya's "Dance Teacher", are the same person. As far as I know, this has never been disproven, so it's possible. Unlikely... but possible.

I do remember one attempt being made on Dany's life via a manticore, but that was by someone from Qarth, IIRC.

Now that is an interesting theory. But how did he end up in that cage from which Arya freed him? We never did see his body, and if this show has taught us nothing else, it has taught us that without a body, they could be very much alive.

I was expecting Theon and his sister's fleet to show up behind the Master's fleet. Maybe next week? I liked Dany's arrival just like "Hey guys, so what's up?" :lol

I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps the throne room scene we got from Dany's vision in Season 2 was that - the Leftovers of King's Landing after Cersei destroys it all with Wildfire.

Thoughts from tonight:
Wish the Blackfish would've escaped...if nothing else, another competent adviser for Jon and/or Sansa.

Jaime's plotline from the book in regards to Cersei....UGH, I really, really, really, REALLY, HATE that change from the books. It really seems that his character arc is just going full circle vs real growth and the change we get in the story.

I also have a feeling that the battle of the bastards is going to end up with Jon without an army, but LF and the Vale army coming to the rescue. Since she sent the letter with Brienne but had the longing look at the ravens was just to throw us off for them arriving to save the day. I also think Ghost will show up just to die, mid battle. I hope the Umbers turn on the Boltons as well as the Manderlys. But instead I imagine Tormund and the SmallJon will fight and kill one or the other.

Good to see the BWB back. I forgot how much I like Thoros and Beric...but....yeah...still hoping for you know who.

I'm not convinced that the Blackfish is gone. I could say all day that I am the richest man in the world, but you probably wouldn't believe it until I showed you proof. Same principles apply here.

Yep....GoT always relishes in showing great exits.....this one just word of mouth,......hmmmm??

Very true and I suspect as much. I know better than that. My frustration from deviating plotlines overshadows my thinking sometimes lol.
