Call it a benefit of living about 1 hour away from Cooperstown, but we have shelves of this stuff at our local grocery stores. I'd offer to supply others, but it's... difficult... to ship alcohol through the mail.
I expect we will. Why show the guy and his power if they won't eventually use it?
There were two changes that I noticed, which kinda struck me. I added spoilers for those who haven't read Book 3.
First, I thought in the book that Sam DID send the ravens, no? He had the one job, but he did it, I thought. Or did I misremember?
Second, I thought Barristan Selmy's identity was kept secret for a while? I mean, I know the AUDIENCE knows who he is, but Dany doesn't and, as I recall, that was one of the three betrayals foretold about her. And its discovery happens about the same time as her discovery that Jorah Mormont betrayed her, too, no?
Anyway, good opener. You can tell it's a good show when you get to the end and you're like "Wait, that can't have been an hour!"
Yeah, I had thought that Sam had released the Ravens also, but no one was sure any got through to their destinations. It's an important point, I thought.
I was wondering how they were going to handle Ser Barristan. A bit more streamlined than I would have chosen, but it'll do. I'm looking forward to Strong Belwas showing up, which should be soon I expect.

That's what I was afraid of. To be honest, I'm almost expecting them to cut out the whole "Sons of the Harpy" storyline anyway. Unless GRRM has something up his sleeve, it doesn't really lose anything to take it out. Just have Dani get her unsullied and maybe have a watered down version of the storyline without getting too much into it.
Well, this season we finally get to meet the Reed siblings, who originally were introduced in book 2. So I'm OK with some reorganizing, but still hope he shows up.
And yeah, a lot of the politicking with Daenerys' people got old quickly for me. If they want to abridge that aspect, I won't be upset.
Pretty good episode tonight. Loved the intro of the Reed kids and the mention of Howland. The Lady Olenna scene was just perfect. Didn't care for the stuff with Shae and the scene with Cat about Jon Snow was a HUGE deviation from the books. Don't think I liked it much. Hope they did that to foreshadow something else later on otherwise its pretty much a character assassination of Catelyn. Overall I'd say 7 out of 10.
I think they put the Cat scene in to more explicitly explain to the more casual viewers the difficult relationship she had with Jon. In the books it was better explained, but in the show, they have to get so much in so quickly, some things kinda get put way in the background.
I think that's the case. Aria definitely fits in more with the rogue kind of fighter. Fast, efficient and stealthy. Heavy face to face combat just doesn't suit her at her current age. A rogue assassin on the other hand? TOTALLY!
So was it me or was Marjory and her Aunt grilling Sansa for info because they wanted to find out about the "real Geoffrey" so that she can appeal to him better. Hence going from the orphans because she was told he was a kind and gentle ruler to her asking if Geoffrey wanted to watch her kill something, because Sansa told her how he was a monster and he killed ned and made her look at his head.

I loved the scenes with the Queen of Thorns and I thought JoJen and Meera were spot-on. The Jaime and Brienne fight was bad-ass as well.
As for Arya... you can't get really good with a sword if you don't practice and she hasn't had much chance to do that during her time at Harrenhall and then being on the run.
