Never liked Theon so I have trouble working up sympathy for him. I just started the fourth book and I'd be happy to see him die in a fire at this point. :angry

She wanted him to boast and speak freely in front of her about his intentions now that he was back home. He would not have done so if he had known who she was first or that she had basically taken his place at his father's side. It really had nothing to do with the fact that he's a total perv. She just wanted his guard down and to make him feel like a total idiot later.

There's a great interview with the showrunners over at westeros.org. They talk about how they aren't really adapting each book individually and that they're doing the A Song of Ice and Fire series as a whole, so thats why we wont necessarily see certain things that happened in the 2nd book in season 2. This really put my mind at ease about certain things. I think I'll be able to enjoy the series much more now.

Good episode, I thought Brienne was perfect. I notice they eliminated the period Arya, Gendry, and the other boys spent wandering in the wilderness before getting captured, which probably is a good thing.

I'm loving this show. I finished the first book and was surprised they got all of that into one season. Tyrion is fast becoming the hero of this tale in my eyes.
Yeah, they're really condensing some stuff from book 2, but they do such a great job with it that I don't mind one bit. Though there were some really cool moments from the battle between Yoren's recruits and Ser Amory that I would've loved to have seen, but oh well.
Tyrion and Varys had some great moments in this episode. I really hope that level of great writing/character development continues. I'm really not sure where they're going with the Shae character, though. She's way more annoying in the show than she was in the books. They've sped up her storyline considerably, which they had to due to changes they've made elsewhere, but it seems the writers may be unsure of what to do with her sometimes.
By far, the highlight for me in this episode was Brienne. I don't think they could've found a more perfect actress for that role. She really does the part justice. Its going to be great watching her, I think.

This week was probably one of the best Tyrion episodes yet, and that's saying something. Poor Joffrey and Lancel (though Joffrey is really embracing the evil king role.)
I was sorry to see that they replaced the actor who played the Mountain, but since it's not a big role (so to speak) hopefully it'll work out.
And from the looks of things, I'm guessing that they're going to omit the capturing of Storm's End (since that's where the Davos/Melisandre scene originally happened.)
All in all, I miss the things that are being cut, but I understand the need to do so.

I enjoyed last night's episode for the most part. I thought Arya and Tyrion's scenes were really great. I'm kind of sad with what they're doing with Dany, though. I like that they're able to separate from the books and still tell a great story, but I'm just not sure why they're changing Dany's story so much. I hope they're able to make it work.

They've just had to condense so much, but it isn't surprising considering they've got to fit it into a 10 hour season. There's some stuff I'm missing, too, but I think the stuff they're leaving out and condensing makes total sense.
What about the shadow baby, though? I though that was so great. I knew what was going to happen and my jaw still hit the floor. So awesome!

Melisandre actually addressed this in the novels. Shadows only exist in the presence of the light.
My girlfriend said "Well that's one thing you don't plan for in your castle defense, a p**** demon." :lol
A couple questions, did Rob Stark's army really have a bunch of wolves or was it only his wolf? I couldn't tell if maybe his direwolf could get other wolves to help or if it was an exaggeration since the guy reported the dead were eaten by his army. Also was Arya saying those names because she's trying to remember who to kill?

I think Greywind is alone, though at least one of his siblings takes over a pack of garden variety wolves.
Yeah, she picked that up from Yoren, the member of the Night Watch who was leading them north. He remembered the guy who killed his brother, so Arya is remembering everyone who's crossed her, her family and friends. The list gets pretty long.
They included that line in last night's episode, too. She said it as she and Davos made their way into Storm's End.
I can't believe the season is already almost half over. I hope we're going to see the House of the Undying.

They actually start referring to Robb's forces in general as Wolves and him as The Young Wolf.
