Limited Run === G R A F L E X === Flashgun Gen.2 ... now taking PRE-ORDERS!!! New Pics Oct. 5

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Arguing? I'm not arguing, but I'm tired of correcting someone who doesn't want to take the effort to even read what anyone else is writing. It's obvious some people have already covered their ears and are yelling "nah nah nah" all day long. Stay deaf, stay blind. Whatever. Staying mute would be the take-away here though.

All you've done in this thread is argue with people and in a very passive\aggressive manner I might add. No one is forcing you to correct anyone or anything. Thats something you've taken on yourself. So, if as you say, you're tired of it, then just stop and move on. Unless, of course, you're not capable of controlling yourself. Because thats how you come off to me. As an obsessive compulsive person.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

I don't think anyone has made that complaint for that reason. Not in terms of accuracy anyway.

I believe someone did bring up accuracy while at the same time
Complaining abiut the blade holder not
Fitting....a blade holder which would make it even more innacurate.

People are upset because they've bought parts that are not compatible and no matter how fault or blame is laid (or whether it is), these people have put out money that they feel has been wasted in some way.

Well, my intent when i purchased Romans Gralfex was to make a TFA saber.
After i purchased the saber over a year ago i didnt buy any parts for conversion until i his Graflex was finished and I knew which parts were compatible.
When people started getting their Roman sabers is when i began asking questions about compatability.
Such as - if Roys metal
Clamp cover would fit...after i got confirmation in these details i went ahead and started buying the add-ons.

Ive been in this game long enough to know never to buy third party parts until i know for sure they fit a specified part...especially a part made by another third party.

Then there are people who are upset about what was advertised compared to what was received in terms of accuracy, fit and finish, etc. These things (and more) can all be separate - I don't think it's fair to say that someone's POV is invalid either way.

Those other accuracy issues can remedied with a bit of scotchbright and a new rabbit ears rivet (which is already available)....the only real bug issue is the fit of the blade holders.

I personally don't care about an existing third-party holder fitting, only about the similarity to a vintage flash and interchangeability.

If its not the third party holder then what are you referring to in terms "interchangeability"?

Just curious?

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

I might friction for the chassis with a dab of epoxy. I don't foresee any reasons to remove the top part if I decide to wire the electronics entirely in the bottom. Though I may remove the red button contact pins and shim a push button underneath it. In that case it would still be serviceable from the red button opening. Also good to know that the graflex innards are shorter than a blade holder, so no problem fitting the chassis in that regard.

edit: Darth Saber, does roys clamp cover fit?

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Also, has anyone used Roy's bottom cover? There's a little lip on Roman's and I don't know if it would interfere at all. Thanks.

Yes Roys cover fits.
Someone posted photos a few pages back.
Everything lines up.

Ah, thanks, this thread has become so convoluted with bickering. :rolleyes

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Just got shipping notification from PayPal this morning on my TFA conversion kit. Very excited! I only ordered a few weeks ago, so that should give an impression of how busy Roman is. Over a year of orders out the door in only a week or so!

you know I've stayed pretty quiet in this thread... But i'm getting kind of upset on all the negativity... I purchased a solo holds blade holder when it first came out. now seeing its off by 1mm is a little disappointing but in the long run, ill just sell the blade holder. its not the end of the world

so romans graflex hole is off by 1mm? this was done all over the internet, built on the other side of the world. for what roman delivered is a absolute achievement. he brought forth the most accurate and FUNCTIONAL graflex in RPF history...

we even have already been told other saber smiths are updating blade holders to accommodate for this blade holder issue. so whats the big deal?! your getting a amazing replica for 1/4 of the price of a real one. you invested 80 bucks or so in the solo holds holder, if your that adamant about using the SH holder, drop the 1000 bucks on a real one.... if not, ditch the SH in the junk yard and wait for the updated versions of the blade holder

I find all this negative a slap in the face to roman. after all he's done for us in this community. if i were him and after reading all these insults i wouldnt even bother doing anymore runs in our favor....

for the record, i appreciate everything roman has done... and if i had the forum power of the Mod's i would clean this thread up because this is a total insult to this man...

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

The way I see it now the biggest problem is trying to figure out which version I want to make with my new Roman Graflex - ANH, ESB or TFA. :D

Thanks Roman! Bring on the MPPs please!

One YouTube review I saw made a good case for making all three in one. Simply buy an extra bottom.

You said it brother! This is intended for an ANH (mine that is) but still sitting on my bench while I keep looking at different versions. What to do, what to do!

Amen. The vitriol about this miniscule discrepancy is the very definition of "making a mountain out of a mole hill." Keep up the hysteria over silly minutae and pretty soon makers will start deciding serving the community just isn't worth the headache. And that would be a REAL issue worth complaining about.
