Limited Run === G R A F L E X === Flashgun Gen.2 ... now taking PRE-ORDERS!!! New Pics Oct. 5

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

Yeah Parks replicas worked. But...as long as the red button depresses and the brass stem is springy and everything looks and feels like a real Graflex, shaving a few bucks by leaving out a few internal bits of metal that are needed to make it work seems a-okay to me.

Of course, if you really want to go buckwild, you could look into DV ROTJ parts to go with these new flashes one day...has that been suggested before? :p

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

I'm in the minority also it seems, I want this to be a fully functioning Graflex replica like Parks used to sell. It's the reason I don't like Park's new Graflex 2.0 replica, it's designed to be a lightsaber replica, nothing like the original Graflex. It's just not the same. Was hoping to be able to find a place that had it 1:1 with the original prop again, but I understand if it's too hard, I'd buy them either way.

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

At least if they didn't function, the innards would be different and we'd stand some chance of not getting a replica passed off as real. Not sure whether such a negative point should be a deciding factor for something meant to be fun though.

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

Were Parks' replicas ever functional as their originals were?

I think your answer is in that.

yes... they actually functioned 100% as a real one.

I know it's silly, but I would want 100% replica too. But I'm ultra crazy and you guys know that.

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

I'd prefer a 100% working replica as well, though it's not critical.

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

I could care less it could be completely hollow and I wouldn't care. Just as long as the outside looks the part. Thanks for asking though. Plus I might need two.

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

I would hope for fully functioning... True accuracy...

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

My vote would be a full on true replica that works. If I saw a non-working replica for sale and working replica for sale, and it was a $50 price difference, I'd get the working one. I'm not saying I would not buy a non-working one, but my preference is an accurate, working one.

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

I never for a second thought these would be working replicas.

Non working is just fine for me, assuming I can get some. Hoping to be able to get two to three depending on the status of the ROTJ holes version?????

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

It's a prop, not a camera accessory! Same time, hassle and money. Non-functioning!

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

I have quite a few real flashes, so functioning isn't necessary for me. If all outward appearances are the same, then I am good to go. I've never tried to explode one of your grenades, so chances are I won't take a picture using one of the flashes. :cool

Re: === G R A F L E X === flashgun ... anyone? **??? QUESTION ???**

As long as it moves and feels real, it doesn't need to take a bulb and FLASH. Not a static like parks V2 but with the bulb clamp that actually clamps and moves side to side, depressable buttons and so on.

No matter what it's still a replica, no matter how close or perfect you get it, it's a replica, so the innards are no issue to me. I'll convert a real graflex what I'm looking for perfection.

Yeah, that's how I feel. I would LIKE a real working one, it would be really cool, but in the end, even if it WAS technically a working one I'd never find out because I'd never put batteries or a bulb in to test it.

So is this project dying?
