functional Raise the Titanic model

I'm building a functional Raise the Titanic model. It's functional in that I plan to install dive tanks similar to those found in submarines so the model can be "raised" to the surface of a nearby lake as in the movie RTT. I'm not really sure how to go about this, but I was planning on attaching two tanks filled with water to the model's port and starboard sides, sinking it than blowing the ballast tanks via remote so the model would float to the surface. My question is this: Does anyone know what equipment I would need or does anyone know an easier way of going about this?
