Gone but not forgotten.
Just pre-ordered this from HLJ. Description doesn't say a whole lot, but it does say it's a skill level 3 kit, so it may be more than a typical Japanese curbside car model. Coming in December, will make a nice present to myself!

Nice to see Bond cars finally getting some releases. I actually just found the hotwheels of this car the other day.

Very nice! Saves me the trouble of having to convert a Nichimo Lotus kit that I acquired recently. I got two so I could do the normal car and the sub version.

Ha - I've had 2 Bandai 1/16th Esprits stashed under the table for about 10 years that one day I was going to convert.... I can see that never happening now!

All these things from my childhood,....The release of the brilliant 1/48 Eagle Transporter coming really soon,....I had the Dinky toy with the green cockpit....I used to have the big Corgi toy of the Lotus Esprit,.....back in 77

Got to have this

....all I'm waiting for is a New Avengers Triumph TR7

If you ever want to get rid of one of those....

Oooooh white lotus esprit PPW 306R.... my favourite bond gadget ever. Theres a great story to how it was chosen as a bond car too. Had a 1:36 corgi version when I was young. Still have a photo of me opening it at christmas one year. Might have to get one....

i bought into that diecast series 1:43 cars, so i haven't bothered to make any models of bond cars

Mine finally arived Saturday, after nearly a month transit time from Japan.

Mine arrived sometime between xmas and new year - but took considerably less!

First thing that struck me was the total lack of any sort of tie-in or licencing to either Bond or Lotus with just "Bond Car Submarine" on the box.

looks like a nice kit though!

Pics, my brothers - PICS!

Have the Corgi mentioned earlier as well, and also have both versioned in 1:18. But I have a taxing habit of duplicating my cars in both 1:18 and 1:24 so this may be a "must".

And some from mine!
Very nice kit. Body is straight and crisp. The way the kit is tooled, they can definitely do a street version.
And agreed Antsnest, this is probably not a licensed "James Bond" item and may not be around long, if you know what I mean. I may order another just in case...

I like how straightforward they broke it up, wouldn't even need instructions.

There's probably very little of the interior going to be visible through the slats.

it looks like a combination of existing kit parts and new parts - the standard car part sprues are labelled "1/24 Esprit/s" and the sub specific are labelled "1/24 Submarine"

Would have been nice to have both options in the box.
You have to cut open the torpedo box in the bonnet(hood) if you want to show that open.
