Fujimi releasing Bond's Lotus Esprit submarine car!

It's a completely new tooling I believe, Fujimi never released a 1/24 scale kit of the Lotus Esprit and it doesn't appear to be a modified tooling of the old Nichimo either.

Like I mentioned, they definitely engineered this kit to do a street version later. All the sub parts like antsnest said are on different sprues. All of requisite holes in the dash and body for the sub parts are flashed over so no filling for a stock look. I built up the interior last night after watching scenes from the movie on Youtube. It has a grey interior with the red plaid seat inserts. I'll paint those by hand, even though you wont see them. Warm up my Duplicolor white and will be good to go.

They would be crazy not to. I'm sure it would only be a curbside kit, but I would be fine with that.

Looks great! I'll keep and eye on these and if I can get one for the right price I can see it fitting nicely in my movie car collection :)

Fujimi just announced that a street version of the Esprit S1 will be released in mid February!

Finished...

And agreed Antsnest, this is probably not a licensed "James Bond" item and may not be around long, if you know what I mean. I may order another just in case...
According to the decal sheet ,it is liscensed by United Artists.
Definately getting one of these.

It is the base from Bandai's Falcon kit. Model railroad sand glued down, plaster cast rock glued on and blended in with Tulip fabric paint and all painted different shades of blue and white.
Since it's licensed to United Artists it is a licensed Bond item. Cant believe the prices scalpers are charging for these on eBay!

The street version showed up yesterday!
