All right people, hold onto your hats because this is big.

I know what pen Boomer is using at the end of the pilot. :D

It's a Uni-Ball Vision Elite.

These are my pen of choice at work, so I spotted it straight away.

And there are at least three of them around that table:

That's my little contribution to prop history. Who wants to touch me? :lol

Depends. How much do you look like Boomer?

Regardless, good find. I'm sure that'll put a lot of folks' minds at ease.

:D

This one? :D ;)

It was found some time ago over on ASAP.

All the pilots have them in the lower right leg pocket next to the tooth brush tube.

Sorry Mike.

It took me months to find one, now all the stores carry them.

Now if you could ID this part many would be greatful.

I am still a fan of the old BSG.

I'm a fan of both. I don't see why liking one precludes liking the other.

It's been a while since I've watched the mini-series, but I'll second the cookie theory. Looks like a peanut butter cookie. I'll have to go get a bunch of cookies and see if i can find a match :D Prop research is tough work.

Well said.
While still a fan of TOS I really enjoy the new one.

Apollo,
That's a cookie not a sandwich.

Well you think they would have given that kid some mushies instead of a stale ole cookie. ;) :D

Kris,
That USB Hub goes in the front right pouch on the gun belt.

The buckle is also for the gun belt and is actually for sky diving equipment.

I think its cool some like both series.

BIG BUT COMING>

But I need to explain something about people like me so others understand...

The problem is the "new" Galactica killed any chance to see the classic storyline ever returned to, to find out what happens to all the characters 25 years later.

That is my big problem with it. It represents death of the original characters and series to me.
That is hard to get passed by just shrugging my shoulders and saying OK lets embrace re-imagined stuff and forget all that ever happened before. Like it wasnt good enough to return to. It had to be jazzed up and switched around for todays audience. I say that is BS and alienated many Galactica fans permantely.

I dont watch the new show. But as far as I know the whole "chariots of the gods" theme is not a part of it.

All the 13th colony stuff, kinda the opposite of Star Trek theme, as explained in the original series intro.

The whole point of the original show.

Imagine returning home to visit and someone replaced your parents, they kinda look like them, but the names are reversed and different, and your old room is totally different and you have a little brother instead of a sister, your dog is a poodle instead of a german shepard, maybe they celebrate different holidays. And everyone is telling you why dont you like it???? whats wrong with you? its a wonderful home. But its not right, its not yours. No matter how nice it is.

So that is just me talking, why I cant like the new one. It just reminds me the old one is dead forever now.

And I dont think people should think less of anyone who feels this way. I dont think less of anyone who likes the new one.

Who CARES what happened to the kid, Boxy, let's all just be thankful he's not part of the re-occuring cast. A nice side-effect of this being aimed at adults, not a 'family show'.

I was about fifteen when the OS was on.. I enjoyed it then, but honestly I find the show embarresing to watch, today. So much cheese, so many re-used space scenes, with out the exemplary writing that made similar cheese acceptable with ST:TOS.

Not trying to start a flame war here, these are just my opinions, if you feel that BSG:TOS was the opus in SF series, that's cool by me, just don't try converting me to your POV. ;)

Sadly, the cheese is starting to smell in the new series. I love the new series, but they've got to do something about the prop budget and set the BIBLE in stone. I'm tired of standard weapons and equipment getting cheap'd out. But, I guess I'd rather have a good story than a good prop..

What ever happened to the original 1st season side arm?>>?

Why did it go bye bye??

If I remember correctly, someone posted about it a while back. Something related to taking the shell off to reload every 6 shots was too much a PITA. Might have just been speculation though.

That's it more or less, confirmed by a video blog. Season 1 blasters were clamshells around a revolver. Not much of an issue, since they didn't actually shoot very often in the first season. Second season then started shooting stuff a lot more often so they switched to a semi-auto pistol to make their lives easier.

Why they picked the FN Five Seven I don't know, it's an ugly gun (though I've warmed up to it). Maybe they got a lot of spare blanks from Stargate production and needed a gun that could fire that caliber round.
