For Me - lifesize Terminator project

Lower done ready to texture then paint. You can see the pelvis on top.

Pelvis is next. Sorry about the pics being blurry but you get the idea.

Please reconsider the bent legs pose, in case it's not too late. Everybody does them and it just looks like he's ready to take a dump.

Looking forward to more progress shots.

LOL!!!!!

Actually the legs are just sitting up against a chair. I have not begun to mount them until I get the pelvis done. Just out of curiousity guys how do you think I should pose him?

Also I am looking for a "Leightweight" phase rifle for him to carry. Any help is appreciated.

How about making him stand with one foot on a skull like he's getting ready to crush it.

I was thinking of having him stepping on a skull with one foot, holding a skull in his hand with a rifle in the other.

Any comments appreciated. :)

You are gonna get people making Hamlet comments.

My vote would be on something like this - the least retarded pose I've seen:

If I could throw in my 2 cents...

Somebody made this robot for sale to the public and it had a pipe up its bum to help keep it standing as part of the base. :confused

Please....no pipe up the bum. It just looks so wierd and uncomfortable. :confused

Agree-- holding a skull is a bad idea & will look silly imho... stepping on and crushing a skull is a great idea and fits well into the Terminator theme

I have a support pipe coming out of the back underside of the Pelvis. That is the best way to support this heavy guy.

I like Garlic's pose and may use it. I should have the Pelvis done this weekend and will be able to attach the Legs so I can start posing.

As for the Rifle I am looking to buy something no time to make.

Pelvis is a *****. As I was drilling to put in the support it began to break up. Spent the day using alot of epoxy putty. Hopefully I will be able to assemble soon.

Progress. Got the pelvis done and attached. Also attached the legs and started on the lower spine.

Started on the Front and Back Chest last night. What a pain. The two halves do not even come close to matching. Spent the whole night just filling to get it to match somewhat. Will work on some more tonight. Should be ready to sand tomorrow I hope.

Is this a Tait kit? Your first couple of pics look way to nice to be one. Looks great and keep us posted! :thumbsup

Yes it is a TAIT Kit. I have spent alot of time getting it correct to even use. Not pristine but good for my needs. I am missing the piece that looks like a small panel just beneath the bottom of the Front Chest piece. looks like it covers the first part of the Vertebrae where it meets the Pelvis. Any help?

Now I know why the chest is so hard. It is warped or cast wrong and there is nothing I can do. Oh well it will still come out o.k. Will post pics soon.

Regarding the pose, is there any way you can build it to keep the joints adjustable?

Even if it meant loosening a few bolts to adjust the pose, I think I'd want to leave it with some articulation. That way you can have it standing in the living room or sitting at the kitchen table or riding in the car or lying on the couch.

Too many options to list really. In fact, now I want to build one just so I can photograph it doing all sorts of mundane things around town; pushing a shopping cart, riding a motorcycle, mowing the lawn.

Where did you get the kit?

That would seriously undermine it's ability to be self-contained and stand upright and not collapse and not have a huge support rod/frame holding it up. The more static you can make it... the less support you need.

Honestly, you really wouldn't wanna know. Tait is a recaster and a scam artist.
