For gamers: what games would you like remade/updated?

I'd be happy if they'd just release the newer version of snatcher here. You can't go wrong with it as it was created by the guy who created Metal Gear. I liked Snatcher as you saw places like the pet hospital that got cut out of bladerunner.

Absolutely. I would definitely be down for that, as long as they promised to bundle it with a sweet light gun. Oh man, that game was so much fun.

They should bundle it with a light gun and an english version of Policenauts. We need an update of Secret of Evermore too. If square hadn't started hemorraging cash in the early 2000s we'd probably have had it in a collection like we did final fantasy/Chronotrigger. They could have bundled it with secret of mana.

Now that you mention it, considering how many different platforms Chronotrigger has been re-released on in the recent years (including PSN and Nintendo DS), I'm surprised Secret of Evermore/Mana hasn't received the same treatment.

Well, Secret of Mana was released via Virtual Console on the Wii a few years ago, but I don't think Evermore was released. Either way, updated versions of both would be something I'd be all over.

Also, a proper English release of Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) would be nice. The fan-translated ROM is very playable, but still... a proper release is long overdue.

while i'm building up my retro game system collection i'm going to load up the wii with old games on virtual console. You would think the companies would notice all the fan releases and put them out in the US even on virtual console. The Tenchi Muyo RPG for the SNES in japan is really good but the translation is glitchy.

Blakeh1, where's Warminster at in PA? Wish PA wasn't so big or we could have a prop party. There are a ton of good games for the NES that would do for a cheap remake: Shatterhand, Zero G man and a few RPGs.

I'd like to see an updated version of Battlezone; awesome game that combined elements of a FPS with a top down "Build your Base" real time strategy game.

Along those same lines I wish that they would port over a better version of C&C: Red Alert to the iPad. I still play the good ol Windows 95 version to this day and I just wish they had done a better job with the iOS version.

I think Leisure Larry got updated for the hard to find PS2 collection didn't it? it had a ton of his games on it.

There was a B5 combat sim that was produced by a Russian team. Not sure if you can still find it easily, but I'd figure it's gotta be out there somewhere.

I had played that one, but the way they flew didn't make sense to me. You had to compensate for every movement. I'd think in a real Starfury some movements the computer would handle so the pilot wouldn't have to handle all the inputs the game needed. Plus I got lost in Hyperspace when, due to the above control problems, I lost track of the beacon... :lol

I'd love to play a spaceflight sim that used full Newtonian physics but also included some auto-correcting. Basically like how the StarFuries were able to easily switch between strafing and dogfighting. That would be cool!

^ We should start our own game project lol. I never seen a flight sim program before. I know there is RPG maker and an FPS maker (which i plan to get).

Any one remember a game that was a RTS, but in space? You started with a base / home ship, and had to build mining ships and fighters?

I don't remember the name but I do remember there being a BSG mod for it that was awesome!

I'd like to see that again... what ever it was :confused

Sounds like Star Treek Armada. There were B5 & Star Wars mods for it (there was also a seaQuest mod, but I nevere got that to work).

There's actually a group keeping that game alive and they've done FABULOUS work on it - Called Fleet Ops.

There's also Star Wars Empire at War and the addom Forces of Corruption that has a space side where you have a starbase, mine asteroids, and build fleets. Lots of mods for that including BSG, Starship Troopers, Stargate, and others. It's held up well over the years thanks to modders.

Could have also been Homeworld, or Homeworld 2. I remember the sequel having some pretty amazing mods.

Damn, now I really miss those games. I'm going to see if I can dig up my copy of HW2 when I get home! :)

Pretty sure it's Homeworld.
