For gamers: what games would you like remade/updated?

The Shadow Warrior - Lo Wang

That game was hilarious! Sure it was politically incorrect but it had me in tears on multiple occasions with his slap stick, Bruce Lee'esk trash speak.

Multi-player was even more hilarious as you could taunt your opponents with his bad kung-fu movie speak.

Bunnies screwing in the bushes, talking about washing his Wang, endless smack talk... Too funny..

What with the online Old Republic game, how about redoing KOTOR 1 & 2 (and actually finishing 2)? I'd also like to see the Jedi Academy games get a Force Unleashed style makeover.

I can't believe anyone remembers Outlander. Damn I loved that game. You could actually see the motorcycle savages flying backward over your car in the rearview after hitting them. I had dreamed how cool it would be if the on-foot part were fps rather than side scroller. The 16 bit limitations and future possibilities seemed obvious.

Systemshock would be an awesome remake ala Bioshock. I have actually been replaying 7th Guest on the iPad. Very cool indeed.

For straight up remakes, Dark Forces and Rescue on Fractalus could use a graphics and sound makeover,

Doc

Definitely the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games... or just a new game with all various Star Wars fighters. Could be fun to steer the Falcon into battle... or manage a Star Destroyer... but mostly fun to pilot the iconic fighters...

My ultimate game:

An intelligent game universe that responds to your character's reputation, which is developed through actions and connections with other characters. Then, basically a hybrid of Privateer (as far as commerce and the open-world quality), and a first person shooter/RPG, all set in the Star Wars universe.

Nobody's gonna make it, though.

The people who made Fallout could make one heck of a Star Wars game... or... better yet... a Terminator game.

Sadly the original crew has broken up. Brian Fargo runs InXile games, bethesda's busy killing fallout and i think a few of the Interplay crew went with them, Black Isle i think is gone, Chris Averlone is with Obsidian Entertainment who did New Vegas and might work on Wasteland 2. I'd love them to all get back together though.

Actually there is a big market for it but the big game publishers won't go for it. Brian Fargo just used kickstarter to finance Wasteland 2 because he couldn't get any large publishers to go for it. It even got the attention of companies like Obsidian to help them out if they reach the right amount of donations. That's the future of niche gaming right there.

Oh god, NOT OBSIDIAN!!!!

-- side note --

I'm all for Kickstarter style projects. I already donated to the Double Fine game. I'll do the same for Wasteland and any other games I deem would be worthy of my money.

yeah funny how one of the main guys behind Fallout works for them. They used to have some good PC games. Then again back then they, like most companies, published their own stuff. Now the big companies publish and ruin stuff as these smaller companies make it.

The Space Quest series by Sierra, done in the same way lucasarts did for Monkey Island rerelease. The original game but able to switch to 3D graphics and voice actors at any time in the game.

I haven't seen the doublefine game. at least with Wasteland and inxile games you know what you're getting in the way of turn based RPGs like I like.

I'd like to see a remake of the Marathon series. It had a pretty good story for an early ninties FPS. I haven't been able to play it because it ends up giving me motion sickness.

I'm not sure how much longer Obsidian will be around. My friend was one of the producers on New Vegas. Post Fallout, he and his team were bounced around from project to project and eventually all laid-off. I get the sense that they have no internal direction other than what the game distributors dictate.

Ever play Descent? I had no problems with it thanks to hours upon hours logged on flight sims but too many of my college buddies couldn't stand it.

The Magic Knight games from Spectrum, redone in cell-shaded cartoon style :D

Or Darkseed, done photoreal.

Oh i have no doubt that the publishers control the strings of the games the design companies are working on since they're supplying the cash have have their stooges working within the companies making the game. EA is notorious for it. Marathon is actually available on xbox live, not sure if they updated the graphics though. I know there is a lot of references to it in the Halo series.

The version on xbox live is a straight port of the original. The only version out there with updated graphics was a mod for Unreal Tournament 3.
I haven't played Descent. It's just that super fast moving and turning.:sick
