Foam Flux Capacitor. NOW FLUXING!!!...

Re: Foam Flux Capacitor. First picture added.

Like I said, the lights were the hard part. Back then I was so young and did not have much experience building things and there was not alot out there. It's funny, I can remember talking to the guys at industrial light and magic, they did most of the special effects for bttf, and they were pretty cool but basically unless I was spending at least $50 grand with them they didn't know me. So I adapted and overcame and ended up using the guts out of a toy ray gun and then later bought little sequential flashing light kit from a electronics store. I too went through several sets of lights before I found ones I was happy with. It should be 3 lights on each leg and one in the center. Your build looks killer.

I've seen some with 3 lights and others with 4. I don't have to movie handy to be sure, but it looks like you could do it with some white high intensity LEDs and a simple 3 or 4 step shift register. How handy are you with a soldering iron and circuits?

Well I ordered some lights I hope they will work like I want them too.
Until they come there is not too much more I can do to this project right now so it is on hold for a week.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words. I know my builds fail in comparrison to most here but it is the love of building I enjoy.
On that note be sure to watch out for a build thread I will be posting tomorrow. It will be a complete build thread in one post. Nothing great but I think some will enjoy it.

Ohhhh! Can't wait.

BTW, I would argue with your assessment. I think you're builds are truly impressive and your preferred choice of medium unique. Hold your head high ;)

Bah!

This is far more impressive than "I bought these parts and put them together". :thumbsup

Indeed, Jamie.

You are an artist in every sense of the word! You have an R2 AND a Wall-E. I have neither!

LOL thanks guys, I wasn't looking for an ego boost but they are always welcome lol..
you may keep the praises coming if you insist!.. :)

Re: Foam Flux Capacitor. First picture added.

Had some time to sit and work on the flux capacitor today. I used yellow and red tubing and bic pens for the inside parts. I also used some christmas lights. They are not perfect but it works. I added some foam corners to help the box keep its shape I also used some short pieces of metal coathanger stuck in the ends of the tubes and then pushed into the foam to help keep them in place. All I need to do now is work on the pieces of tubing/piping that come around the top and side. I will use these pieces to hide the rest of the christmas lights.
