Fire Spray 31 patrol and attack craft from Oovo IV prison

Yeah who went and complained. SS is a joke, I would love to know who set the rules for whats Studio scale and what isnt. seeing as its a made up term any way. and only exists in certain peoples minds.

Thanks guys.......much appreciated!
Lee and Al no worries the rpf is cool, I asked
for it to be moved it's all good!:thumbsup I think it
belongs over here anyway it's way too much of a cluster
of things at this point. It doesn't seem to have a problem
with it it's still sitting on my bench, giving me problems to fix!! LOL

Ah i get ya Mike, meh, id have left her where she was, sure, she isn't a studio accurate build, but thats not what you were aiming for, but it had a home over on the other forum lol.

bests..........lee

Lee one day I will set out on a real rivet counting project,
I will be sure to bother you for some of those the rivets! LOL

It wouldn't matter if this build was in a home shopping forum on a girlie website, I'd still be in awe, just of the sheer inspiration alone, I'm doing more Vac forming tonight and its inspired me to build more myself....... I was gunna get part of the engines machined but have decide I can do it my self !!!! Keep up the good work Mike, don't forget to send it Signed for when it finished????? :)

Keep up the good work Guy!!! Did you see what happened here Guy? Al and Lee agreed on something
that alone was worth it for the move! LMAO

LOL, I'm still up at 4.30 am, seriously need to sort my timing out, scratch built the long engine housing tonight, just waiting of the primer to dry :)

Well I spent some time...... not so much trying to figure out
what i had to do to get a good canopy(Forming), but more of what
goes into getting one. I found out using apoxie sculpt or
ultracal-30 even when finished and sanded down,, is still
filled with small imperfections that you really can't see by
eye. They are fine for regular styrene but bad for the PTEG.

I sanded down the part real smooth then I pulled a
real thin sheet of black styrene over it. Then I sanded
the black styrene super smooth. The black sheet formed over
the pattern just helps you get off that clay material.

It's still not 100% flawless but it's SO much better. Once
you put a little color behind it you can't even see some
of the flaws. So I am pretty sure the cockpit will help me
out

Test pull...

I filled under the bottom because in the test pull I was
loosing the corners down on the platen. I wanted to be
able to slide a riser underneath for later.

I wouldn't say that entirely mate, i agree the thread should have just stayed in place, but thats your call my friend, i can't say ill ever agree on Al's views of studio replication, but thats because he doesn't understand what it entails really and gets a bit twitchy and feels the need to lash out. Keep the great updates coming buddy!

lee

Lol. No lashing out, just that i cant take pompous idiots. Thinking there builders because they glued two kit parts together. I dont know what it takes to build a SS model. Its easy. MONEY for kit parts. Try building for real. That takes skill.

So no lashing out, but a need to insult guys who DO want to replicate a model built by ILM part for part? Is it some kind of envy Al, and its not pompous at all, its a choice, a choice of what modelling path one chooses, so in all, your view is that of a bigot possibly? Tell you what, go scratch build me a Ferrari 312 engine casing, you can choose the variant, make it spot on to the Tamiya supplied part, and ill be super impressed and give you a pat on the back, until then, i think you need a break from even entering studio scale replication boards if it gets you so flustered looking at kit parts!

lee

Lol. You go scratch it. Wait you cant. I have no problem with these guys. Just people like you. Out of the whole forum here the SS section has to have the least of the talent. When you compare the props and costume section, the SS section is very lame. There hardcore builders. Unlike alot of SS who are all talk and all butt kissing.

Oh and to be clear i respect the guys who build, and theres alot of great builds. I just dont like ones like you. So since you couldnt keep to the cease fire we had. Your the one who needs a break Try building something might do you good

Your really angry Al, have a drink pal, dont get me wrong, as a builder, you got it down, i like the fact you go big, sure its a bit scruffy for my tastes, but i do respect your a true builder, have some fun buddy!

bests.... Lee

No anger at all. You just dont know me. Yeah i like scruffy. I show all the rough stuff. Thats real building. Unlike some who just take generic cleaned up pics that never show any work.

Ok so deal. Or do we keep going

Oh no mate, back to the thread, but if ever you can handle a chat, by all means, contact me off board as not to poo on others threads, have a good one matey!

lee

LOL Been there watched the sun come up a few times,
out of sheer stubbornness!!!!!

Well I got the part ready sanded and a riser for it.

Then i formed it in some thin black.

Clear sheet form...

Marking it from underneath the sharpie paint markers are
good tough to mark with other things.

pulls look great! really have been learning a lot watching all of your vac-forming progress. this is going to be a monster when its finished!
