So what kind of lining will this jacket come with? A full lining? In brown or black?

Also based on the discussion, I assume you did not go ahead and have extra noncustom S M & L jackets made? So when do you think you'll start taking orders for a second run?

Full lining, probably a dark brown satin-like cloth. There will be I think 10 non-custom jackets made, 3 S, 3 M, and 4 L sizes. A second run will be determined by how well the remaining jackets sell and what the demand is in general.

Please pm me if I can get in this.

Sorry, custom sizing is closed now. You're welcome to wait for one of the general sized ones, or to see if there's a second run. I think there's a good chance there will be.

Ok, you wonderful patient people seem like you deserve an update, so here it is!

That last picture is to show what I gave as the example to match the color. I think it's a little shiny and perhaps a little intense on the brown, we'll still work on that.

Aside from that, the front pockets will be slightly smaller (they come up too high on the front) but there's sample v2.0!

Oh also, there isn't a great photo of it, but the belt actually goes inside the jacket, like the movie one.

Wow! Now my excitement can barely be contained. This is shaping up very nicely

but I agree, maybe slightly toned down in the brown and like you said a little less 'shiny'. Overall however, looks fantastic. Thanks agian Zlurpo

thx for the update. It does seem too brown and the straps seem too light against the existing color. The glossiness has got to go. Also isn't it going to have the red strap on the one side as shown in your first post pic?

Agreed. darker straps and red across front.

Also, does the front pocket have the circle cut out? I could never tell, even on the screen used version

Re: Star Wars TFA, Finn/Poe Jack Custom Fit for $215 (HUGE price drop). Genuine Lamb

What exactly is going on with the circle is unknown to me, but on the sample it's got a layer behind it so it's not hole in the pocket, nothing can get through it.

The strap on the side will be painted red by me, because it's painted in the movie jacket and I didn't want to rely on them to do that.

All of the webbing is the right color I think, it's just WAY too clean, so I'll recommend weathering it and getting it dirty.

We've already begun discussing making it a slightly lighter brown and toning down the shine, although the best solution for that might end up being age or 0000 steel wool.

Re: Star Wars TFA, Finn/Poe Jack Custom Fit for $215 (HUGE price drop). Genuine Lamb

Looking at the new sample pictures i think toned down brown will help. I guess why the straps look wrong in color is the contrast between the two tones. Getting a more toned down brown would help. And as Zlurpo said, weathering/wearing the jacket will also help lose that shine and darken the straps. With comparison pictures the straps do look correct in color with the screen used jacket

looks like the shade of brown and lowering the front pockets is all that's needed to me.

Also, it looks like they're trying to duplicate the weathering seen on the on screen jacket, I'd rather mine be clean, so I can weather to taste

That's an option, but I doubt you'll want it, unweathered it looks like this:

So far I've told him to plan on using maybe 20% less wax (that's what changes the color) and he says it can be less shiny.

Re: Star Wars TFA, Finn/Poe Jack Custom Fit for $215 (HUGE price drop). Genuine Lamb

Cool. Have to just wait and see what it looks like with that 20% decrease in wax.

Seeing the raw Lambskin is nice but having the color already there is my preference.

Re: Star Wars TFA, Finn/Poe Jack Custom Fit for $215 (HUGE price drop). Genuine Lamb

for sure would prefer colour, I thought they were dying it, and then adding extra dye to spots to create the weathering look... the jacket should be dyed to one consistent colour, and weathering is done over the dye. (Danny's jacket run that just finished has just the dye, no darker spots with extra dye) Hope that makes sense?

It does make sense but I think they went with this color because it's actually quite close to the lighter spots on the movie jacket.

Re: Star Wars TFA, Finn/Poe Jack Custom Fit for $215 (HUGE price drop). Genuine Lamb

I think the weathering is way, way too much. It also makes the webbing look awful and the red too bright by a mile. I definitely would want mine to be a uniform color of leather, and the straps to be darker if possible. As is, I think they'd have to be dyed. I liked the first prototype better. The fixed details look good, though.

Re: Star Wars TFA, Finn/Poe Jack Custom Fit for $215 (HUGE price drop). Genuine Lamb

....same here, i think the color on the 1st was better but details are an improvement.

Re: Star Wars TFA, Finn/Poe Jack Custom Fit for $215 (HUGE price drop). Genuine Lamb

I think the 20% decrease in waxing would look better, i do like the tonality of whats being achieved by it though. V2 prototype is looking pretty solid though, I applaud your desire to get this on point, much luv zlurpo, looking forward to see what the shop comes up with on bringing down the wax a bit more

The straps look right on this one, so I agree its the contrast and they are too clean

Also, there is another process called tumbling, which I think is basically throwing the thing in a drier (but I don't really know). It makes it look more like leather and less like cheap vinyl. Anyway, the second sample got tumbled and while it made the leather even darker (or maybe it was just the change in lighting) but it also seemed to dirty up the straps a bit. I do actually think they're a pretty good match. I will still check what other colors are available.

Re: Star Wars TFA, Finn/Poe Jack Custom Fit for $215 (HUGE price drop). Genuine Lamb

I'm leaning towards the original sample for color, and the V2 sample straps and other improvements on the V2. After dealing with the pockets and perhaps shorting the ribbed section of the front placket, I think you'd have a winner. Just my two cents
