Re: Denix getting a nicer booty
So it was time for some weathering and assembly
for weathering i used the all familiar aluminium black , my first try, so im not totally happy with the look, i went for somthing like well used

There are a few small things missing yet , a set of grips and a new grip screw, and also i will have to redo the plugs i made over the holes from the pins on the trigger and hammer .
Also rings around the hole in the hammer needs to be done , but i have to make a tool for this.
Some weathering needs to be done to the hammer and bolt also

These are the mods made to the gun :
upper :
-sharpende details and removed pitting
-taken apart and filed T-slot in moving part of sight
-accurised shape of the end of the siderails on both sides
-removed cast rings on sight attachment
-removed as much as possible of the exess material on the front of the sight rail
-stamped number
-cleaned up profiles on rails
-filled in hole after old attachement pin
-filed out on the front of the rails to accruice attachement to lower
-moved upper 5 mm forward
Bolt:
-cut slot for extractor
-removed 1mm of fat from the back of the bolt
-cut slots around firing pin
-filed down firingpin and cut "screw" slot
-cleaned up grooving on bolt
-punched serialnumber
Lower:
-sanded and removed pitting
-sharpened contours
-cut out the back and made dummy rearend with moving safetyknob
-cut out magazine bottom and made removable lid
-filled in hole for attachement screw
-punched serialnumbers
-widened space between handle and triggerguard
-filled in holes after bolt and trigger pins
-shaped trigger
-removed denix logo
-sharpened boxes
-shaped ring attachement
might be some more but thats what i can think of right now :
Overall im quite satisfied with this as my first try , now i just need get the DEC parts to make it a DL-44
so please give me some feedback on inprovements that could be done , i still have some time to tinker before the parts arrive
