I think your display looks awesome. You have a great eye for detail and your building skills are impressive.

My only suggestion is the star field out the hanger door. I think a plain star field would look better then the one with pieces of Alderann floating around.

The lack of movement to the pieces ruins the illusion for me, plus a plain view of space is more accurate to the movie.

The star field is actualy the remains of an old dio that has 3 tie fighters chasing the falcon through the astroid field. It is hanging on the wall and just happens to be in the shot. (hers a link to that dio)

I Dont plan on having any star field as that would be one of the viewing areas on the dio. I left it in the preview shots just for the look of the space. Funny, I thought it could be explained as chunks of Alderann when I was taking the pics. I guess I was right since you figured thats what it was. LOL

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, and I agree. The star field wont look like that if i do end up adding one.

Hey Kids!
Here is a small update on the Hanger bay dio. I have made the Hanger control room and "closet" the droids hid in. I have run out of the spray paint I have been using for everything and unfortnatley none of the stores in my area carry it anymore. What a bummer. It is Krylon Mountain View, If anyone finds some I would gladly pay for a few cans shipped! Here are the pics!

That would be fantastic!! I would certainly try to make it worth your time. Like some hanger wall castings and pay for the paint and shipping!!!!

I knew when I bought the paint I should have purchased more than 3 cans....

It's a type of sheet plastic. Kind of like styrene, but it has more flex to it.

The first or second page of this thread has a link to info on sintra. It is a PVC sheet plastic used by sign shops and prop builders. I have built an almost complete full size astromech out of sintra, It rocks!

Krider, all the darn stores are being taken over by Rustoleum. I did find a couple places still selling Krylon, but not the color you're looking for. I still have a couple more places to check, but I won't be able to make it out there until after the holidays.

Have you tried online for the color?

I mentioned this in another thread, I figured it needed its own thread.

Here are pics of my work in progress Hanger bay dio to display my FM M. Falcon.

The floor is 6mm sintra with black & white sign vinyl applied to it. Then I cut the floor panels in with an x-acto. It measures 23" x 26"

The rear wall is all resin made from sintra masters I made and is built in sections. The wall is 26" x 12"

The hallway is mostly resin with a sintra roof.

I am slowly getting there......

Now you need to build the rest of the Death Star.
