Fifth Elements Costumes....

I made Leelo's, or rather Corneluis', bathrobe for Dragon*con last year.

I've had her orange suspender outfit half-finished for over a year :\ Spent months remaking the boots over and over again to get them right, and I only have those and the shirt finished. I'll tackle the pants and suspenders at a later time.

Right now I'm switching over to get the bandage outfit done in time for Wondercon.

One of these days, when I get all of my OTHER costumes done, and I actaully have some money left over, I will start on my 5E cop. I defintely fit the 5E cop "profile".

Personaly, I'd LOVE to do a Zorg suit! One of my favorite characters on film ever! But right now I'm more focused on The Dark Knight Joker outfits.

I'm working on a Zorg for this year too and right now I'm hung up on his green/blue iridecent like shirt. anyone got any ideas?

Dupioni silk will be the closest material. I lucked into a remnant at fabric.com last year - it was from a sample roll called 'Sea foam'.

I was going to do a Leeloo this year, but my friend I'm costuming with isn't that into it, and I switched gears to do Tron costumes instead (it's sorta the last year we'll be able to costume together for a while). Hate I'm most likely going to miss DC this year though. I'd have loved to join in!

All that aside. . .
Anybody have any really good reference photos for Leeloo? I'm having a hard time finding decent ones in general, but especially of her boots/belt. :/

You should definitely contact member kimncris, she did a complete Leeloo costume. Leeloo's Orange Suspenders

I'm working on a leeloo for my mrs
Got the shirt and suspenders sorted

Just stuck on a good wig and trousers

But the boots are the major headache

Any pointers would be greatfully received

My friend and I are going to dress up as Korben and Leeloo for Shadocon this year. It's a little too late for me to dress up as Korben for DragonCon this year but I'll keep a look out and say Hi to the FE costume group! :D

Does anyone know what material they used for Korben's undershirt?

When the Hero shirt was for sale at on Propostore of London, the description said...

Fifth Element, The
Item Number 04257
Bruce Willis Shirt Display

The shirt worn by Bruce Willis as Korben Dallas in the Luc Besson sci-fi classic The Fifth Element. The memorable orange rubber top was worn by Bruce for most of the movie. It has a crotch section which pulls the top tight over the body and has a slated design on the back. This famous garment come custom framed in a glazed display. on a laser cut mount board with the movie logo and 2 movie stills. It also has a window on the back so that the slated design on the back of the shirt can still be seen. The display measures 89cm x 69cm"

Hey, sorry to necro. I didn't want to start my own thread until I'm ready to actually show some progress. Right now I'm in the research stage for a Korben Dallas costume. I'm set on the boots and gun/holster, but the majority of the costume is proving very difficult to even research. According to the internet, nobody's ever done it (except a couple guys wearing orange wife beaters and black cargo pants with army boots), and there aren't many good shots of the pants in the movie. The costume feature in the DVD extras doesn't go into much detail, it pretty much only mentions that the shirt was rubber. I've been all over the internet looking for ribbed/corrugated rubber sheet, and the closest I can get is that 1/8" thick flooring material. His shirt was 2 mm tops.

So I guess the question is a 2-parter:
1. Has anybody here ever done a high end Korben costume?
2. Does anybody have any photo reference besides the design sketch? Maybe something from that $250 making of book on Amazon? Any info or pictures would be helpful. Fabric types for the pants or jacket, close up shots, or really any shots of the costume on display if it ever was, etc.

I have pictures of Leeloo's original suspenders costume and a VERY good picture of her boots. I also have Korben Dallas and Ruby Rhod costume pictures. If you want them, please let me know. I might have to dig harder in my archive for Korben pics, but I do have Luc Besson's book and can post pictures if needed.
