female pred-costume in progress

I think it should work because the magnets are really strong (they're the same magnets people use to attach their bio to the mask). I still have to make the arm for my canon, which i plan on making later on today if not tomorrow so will let you know how it works out.

awesome! (y)

i made 2 shoulder canons today.. first one - i dont like, its made of that purple stuff
the second one i made using Hunter-Hunted's method, but i put some plaster bandages over. so far it doesnt look too bad. the plaster gave it some weight, but its not heavy.
both need more work obviously

just wanted to post some pics, because im bored ^^ more updates on my work is coming soon (y)

Liking that, never thought of using plaster bandages would have thought it would be to heavy, looks brilliant. Still in process of making my Canon arm - skeleton structure nearly finished for test.

Have just finished PVA-ing my Shoulder bells and bicep armor

thinking of starting with the backpack now, cardboard with plasterbandages ontop. it worket well on the canon, so im gonna give it another go :D

sounds great! keep working on it, wanna see pics when you're done ^^ hehe *no pressure*

See the arm or the shoulder bell and bicep armor?

Am the process of finishing my backpack. I made a structural skeleton from cardboard and then covered in foamies cut into shape to fit. I then built on that in layers to create definition, style and shape. The cardboard keeps the shape. But as I say is not finished yet, its still in 2 pieces.

Plasterbandages over that vaster area may be heavy....

i was just thinking that the backpack must be hard to make :/ alot of detailes and etc.... don't know where to begin

it can get heavy... but im gonna try, if it doesnt work i just have to make it over again ^^

Don't no if it helps but I started with the backplate (made of cardboard) with the piece that come up and sit on the shoulder. Then I made the pack area out of cardboard (Separately - this hasn't been attached yet). I made template and cut it out 3 times (1 for each side and then a structural one for the middle). I seperated these using toilet tubes cut into 2 inch peices. Then added details in layers using foamies.

How are you attaching it to you back?

aha, i see!

well i just started, i got some free mattress foam a few days back, so i have cut out a big piece of that, in the shape of the backpack, and now i am adding cardboard to it, to get the "spikes" and other details. i think im just gonna attach it using straps - that is gonna be part of the costume. what about you?

i haven't gotten so much further. but it looks a bit different. and the plaster bandages doesn't weigh that much. but i will see when i'm done with it.
i'm not aiming for accuracy on the backpack, when it comes to how much its gonna look like the originale one. its just gonna be a quick project ( i hope ) (y)

Thats coming along and looks brilliant, can't wait to see the finished piece. Been busy this evening cracking on with shoulder bell and bicep armor also finishing making the structural skeleton pieces for my canon arm.

It did indeed, need to buy more foamies to complete my back "pack" area - looking to do that tomorrow as well. Don't over do it though, because if you get to tired and it goes wrong you'll be kicking yourself - I know have done it (y)

thanks for the advice! i would hate it, if that ever happened to me :/

Last one before, I give up for today. Quick picture of my foamie-d canon still working on it though, just had to let this dry first before doing anymore details. I detailed the back of the canon using the Yautja language just for kicks
