My friends and I are going to do characters from the TV show Mash for Halloween, and I get to be Father Mulcahy! It's going to be a close enough, I'm thinking OD Army fatigue shirt and pants (which I already have), black turtleneck, gold cross.
The problem is... the hat. I haven't seen MASH in years, and I can't remember much about Father Mulcahy's hat. There aren't many pics on the web either, and almost none of the hat itself. I suspect its a panama hat, but don't know anything else.
Are their any hat experts who can identify the style for me, and perhaps a good place to get one? I'm going to rummage the thrift stores and stuff, but I'd like to find a close approximation at an inexpensive price. Here's the best pic I could find of the hat:
