Farscape Props

I'm pretty sure I still have one of the micro-pipette thingies that they used in the the medkit somewhere, if anyone is interested. I think its the only thing left from my Farscape propping days.

I used to have all the Creation licenced stuff. The Pulse Rifles were nice, but the innacuracies around the scope mag bugged me. Think I'd already sold mine by the time it became 'screen accurate'when they used them in Peacekeeper wars.

I also had the Qualta Blade, Pulse Pistol & Rigel Staff. All gone :cry

At one point I owned four Pulse Pistols -The Creation one, a Clint Ripoffguy one that I hollowed out the butt and added fuel cells, an early replica that had light up pointer and barrel, and another one with the light up power array on the back. Will have to dig through my old pics and see what I can find.

What does it look like? I saw your old thread on the Farscape prop forums about htis, but the pics are dead.

Also, I konw the rough size of the face of the vid chip, but does anyone have any idea on the thickness of those things? (sorry, If I already asked this in this thread, or another, but I'm getting old, and working on way too many things at once. :lol)

Do you have any tips for making, and/or adding the "uel cells" to a pulse pistol? (for that matter, any tips on lighting, etc. would help. )

I cut the bottom tip off the handle, then made resin casts to make spares. The cells were made from pen caps. I dremelled out the handle of the pistol, so the cells friction fitted the unit into the gun.

I never messed around with the electronics, they came installed.

I don't have it here, I think it's still at my mum's. If you google micro-pipette you'll get the idea.

I actually have a mag plate / magazine at home just waiting to be cast if I ever get the time.

I designed it the old fashioned way. I traced the bottom of the pistol and made a template. I photocopied the template, reducing it's size until I had the dimension I wanted for the bottom. Used the templates to trace the pattern onto some styrene, then cut and filled with putty to contour the edges. It looks pretty good IMHO and I've been meaning to cast it at some point.......

I've got a couple, I'll post pics tonight. There were 2 different types used in the show but there are so many types out there it's tough to pin down exact models. New ones are really expensive, I lucked out and got mine for free when the pharmaceutical company I work for was throwing a bunch out. :angel

Yeah, I did a search for pics of micro-pipette , but I got way too many different responses. Some where very took ,and kind of looked vary familiar in a Farscape kind of way, and others just looked odd, in one way, or another.

Ok, there were 3 props made from 2 different Micro-pipette fillers.

First is the Peacekeeper "drug injector" used to give a killshot and a revival shot:

Only additions are the glass ampule (anyone know where to get those?) a micropipette on the end and a black paint job. Here's the one I have which seems pretty close:

This looks to just be painted blue with no other modifications. I have one that's close enough for me:

Anyone able to ID Durka's Knife from "Durka Returns"? The little pushbutton on the side leads me to believe its another diving knife with a clip in sheath, similar to Dargo's knife being a diving knife.

I don't know the make or model, but I would have to agree that it is very probable that is a diving knife. It has the right look, and size. The problem is that a lot of knives go by tones of different names, depending on who is selling them, and if that person knows what they are actually supposed to be used for. (even though there is often a name, or purpose on the box for the knife. ) Your best bet would be to do a search on google/yahoo and/or on ebay, for "Diving knife" and wade through the results. (no pun intended. )

Also, there are knife shops out there, and if you have one near you, you may want to take some pics there, and ask them. Back when I used to buy more knifes, I used to go to one, here in town, and not only did they have a very nice selection in the stores, but they had HUGE catalogs, with thousands of knives in them. (new, and old) They were quite knowledgeable too.

prolly just says stainless steel 990 or something.. nice to see the sheath it locks into.
