Farnsworth Discussion

I have one of those that I plan on using for Claudia's Farnsworth, but it wouldn't have worked in my standard Farnsworth because it's too wide at the rim and my protruding brads get in the way. I went with the slightly more expensive (but slightly heftier, as well) '39 Ford Radio Glass. It was $16, with shipping, and it fit perfectly.

Does anybody have the link for this repro
'39 Ford Radio glass?
Thank you

Arrrgg! Parts123 is out of the '39 Ford Radio glass! They were cool about it tho. I ordered it early today and they called me to let me know they were canceling the order and that I could check back in a month. Err! Any alternate sources?

Somewhere in this thread is a link to a lab glass that works pretty well. It's not as robust feeling as the ford glass, but it's like $1.50, so it's a great deal. It's a little wider, but it definitely works.

I ended up going with lab glass for my farnsworth. I got mine on ebay for less than 5 dollars. It is 80mm lab or watch glass. IDK if there is a difference between watch vs lab though. Good luck.

@justinobwi Thanks for the heads up. I have 2 dozen on there way to me. Don't need that many but I'll add them to my boxes of stuff. Question. Anyone thought about a WORKING Farnsworth? Small LCD display, tiny camera in the center jewel? Just an idea.

Yeah, it's been talked about a lot. Usually, people stop talking about it when they put their first Farnsworth together. There is FAR LESS space in there than you would think. Even when you're holding the Wheatley box in your hand, the amount of space available is deceptive. The actual space you have available to work in, depth-wise, is roughly the height of a AA battery laying on its side.

Well I just ordered my fly boxes and hopefully I'll get them soon so I can play with them. I have an LCD scree that I think will fit so I'm willing to try! It might have a huntch on the back but it would be neat to have two working ones! Girlfriend is a BIG fan of Warehouse 13 and she'll be happy just to have one.

Got my first set of parts in yesterday! I'm building two, one for the girl friend and one for myself. Now I just need a few faceplates!

It's a good thing! And early too since the show doesn't start back up again until April.

April sounds like a good timeline to finish... I've got 2 boxes, will be looking for greeblies soon, and faceplates. Are there anywhere we can get all the greeblies at once?

Anyone know what's the thrill with waiting for April? I barely remember what happened in the last episode, being that its been that long. :(
