Here's my build of the 10mm pistol from Fallout 4! I made a blueprint in inkscape using screenshots from the game as reference. This is only my second real attempt at making a prop gun, but I think it turned out pretty good!
I started off with 2 layers of 1/2" eva foam cut in the basic shape.

After that I just start adding layers. The layers vary in size. I use 2mm, 4mm, 6mm, and 1/2in foam. Props are like onions. Because they have layers and make you cry...

Some pieces need to be dremeled before gluing them, since it would be difficult to get the right shape after gluing.

Every now and then I check the thickness just to make sure it's close to what I need.

Here the gun is with some of the layers glued down. I just continue to add layers, getting more detailed as it goes.

Some shaping done on the grip before gluing. For the rounded notch I used a smaller, stone, dremel bit to get it smooth and rounded

Here I cut out these notches that are supposed to be above the trigger section.

After gluing down the grips, I did most of the shaping on them. I also did a bit of shaping on the gun in general. Rounding out some parts and added the bevels where needed. It helps to have reference images while doing this. I left the game running quite a bit just so I could look at the gun in game.

This thing was made from 2 pieces of 6mm craft foam. Then I dremeled the indent with a rounded bit and shaped it some so it would fit properly.

There are 2 small rivets(?) on each side of the gun, so instead of trying to make those out of foam, I just used these small brass escutcheon pins that I found at the hardware store. They aren't long enough to poke all the way through, but I cut the pointy ends off just in case. These were superglued in.

I also used some wire! I just had this lying around so I'm not positive what size it is. It's steel wire and it was the right size though. I just cut small sections and bent them into shape. Then rounded off the ends with the dremel. These were also superglued into place. Here is an image of the wire and pins circled.
