Hey guys, long lurker here and a 405th poster. My next build isn't halo so I figured I'd share my progress here. Gonna be building the fallout 3 BOS outcast t-45d power armor. Plan is to do the entire thing out of foam for what I can and then add odds and ends in like the gas mask tubes.

Here's some pics of my current progress. The gas mask tubes fit perfectly into the tube holes thankfully.

I have a bit more details to do on the helmet with thinner foam and some rivets need to be added but I'm pretty happy with the size and shape after some heat forming and sanding. I'll make the foam files available as I go since I'm converting them from pep files.

update time, nothing crazy. Added about 50 googly eyes to act as rivets around the helmet. Added the back hose connection that I will end up glueing the hose to in the end, just gotta stretch the hose out a little and it will be good.
I also cut out the center filter lines and put another foam layer behind it to give it depth like an actual filter/breathout thing.

My demon cat also decided he wanted to give my helmet some authentic battle damage.. who knew this guy would do something like that.

I don't let him eat it, he just likes to chew on it god knows why.

Did some detail cuts, then added a bunch of details and pieces. Had to get a little creative with some of the parts because foam just wasn't gonna cut it.
Just some kwik sealing and this guy will be ready for a rubber coat!

Yup, and they cover nicely lol.
Update! Kwik sealed, and used leak seal to prime. Just gotta fix some small seams near the nose and reseal and it'll be all set for paint

Awesome work so far! The shape of the helmet is very nice - great job interpreting them from Pep. Looking forward to seeing this one progress.

Thanks for the support SMP Designs and don't worry the thread isn't dead! Just takes a while to cut this chonky Chest piece. I'll finish gluing the rest of it this week. Here's a quick progress update while I hold the sides to my chest.

Chest main done. After these pictures i filled the empty space on the back. All that's left to do is Kwik seal and some light sanding.
Up next is the wings for the shoulders

Let there be wings! Just gotta add some details around the big googly eyes. What a chonk this build is. Gonna see if I can make a latch system so the wings can fall down to make doors easier.

alright sorry I left you all out of the loop. I finished the base construction of my power armor. All that's left is to make a functional fanny pack and add some details. then i'll get to kwik sealing, weathering, and painting. Heres my photo dump!!

Oh also I recreated my helmet because I wasn't happy with it. I can say now after the base rebuild, I am super happy I did. check out these differences

Thanks!! definitly had some improvements, but i'll probably have the wife paint that one for fun. don't think it's bad enough to throw away that's for sure.

Helmet rebuild is complete. I would say the only thing left is a short neck guard on the chest piece and probably fix the tube on the back of the helmet.
This costume is just about ready for physical weathering and kwik sealing.

Brilliant, it's looking really good! I've got a part finished T-51b suit so I can appreciate how much work you're putting into it - I suspect you'll be finished well before I will!
