Fallout 2 Enclave Advanced Power Armor MkII

I was going to say like a glove, but there's plenty of room to move around inside. A foam helmet interior is on my to-do list.

Don't wanna be a bitch or something but one thing that was bothering me. Holes for tubes, aren't they headed to low?
This is what i mean, closer to original XSegh7w.jpg

No you are totally right. That unfortunately was not the only detail that was off. When I attempted to mold the helmet, I left the rubber gaskets in around the eyes, which ended up inhibiting the mold rubber which ultimately ruined the mold and most of the helmet.

I re-modeled the helmet to be more accurate with a bunch of changes. I am waiting for my new 3D printer to arrive in January to print this in one go.

It's not totally perfect because the artwork would not be able to fit an actual human head in there without it being abnormally skinny, but I got it pretty close. It still needs some tweaking in a few areas.

New model looks great. Damn, i need to start collect money ;) Sadly X-01 from FO4 doesn't look so good :(

Just for fun I put my model on the X-01 to see how it looked..and I actually really like it.

Side by side comparison. Granted mine has a much higher polycount but I can still imagine the entire thing in the same level of detail; it looks very much the part.

I have been notified that my printer has been shipped to me from California..I hope it gets here soon because I cannot wait to print the new helmet out.

I like the Fallout 2 version better. Although, the nice thing about building a Fallout 4 version would be that it's huge and wouldn't have any trouble getting a human head into that one.

Can't wait to see your re print. I feel your pain, too. Attempting to make a mold for the T-51b helmet did not go well..........:cry

Well, after 88 hours of printing, I got the main shell done, next is the mouth part and the various greeblies..

It still fits my head too!

I finished printing out the mouth sections, and came across the idea of using a strip of rubber band as the metal "clip" that holds the inner and outer mouth sections together.

Update:

Sanding continues slowly but surely. The ports on the left and right have been added as well as the main hose connection on the top right of the dome. I'm currently printing out the two little hose ports on the left side of the dome which fits 1" hoses.

Its gettin' there..

I have been comparing my 3D print to the artwork and trying to see what major (and not so major) differences there are still between the two. One that was becoming more and more obvious was the angle at which the bridge of the "nose" comes out.

So to fix this I made a straight slope out of Apoxie Sculpt.

And attached paper "pore strips" so that the angle of the nose is now flat.

Which in turn made the nose area much more "fuller"

The next area I attacked with a lobotomy. The dome area along with the "horns" of the helmet were raised too high. I modeled it this way originally thinking it would help fit a human head in there with more space. Turns out there's more room than necessary which means I can go back to making the dome more shallow like in the artwork.

This also means I can make the front "brow" shorter and more rounded which will be closer to the artwork as well.

I'm about to move back to Chicago for the summer, so my chances to work on this will most likely be delayed for a few weeks.

Good eye for details. You can also take a look at Remnants helmet ( I known, low poly) but can give you some hints :)
