Falconer Bio sculpt...

I'm working on the tri-laser unit today and will hopefully have it molded/cast soon. When I begin to sell them, I'll shoot you a pm.

i worked on a full body cast in class the other day and we made the keys into a trapezoid shape to create an undercut so the silicone stays in the mold. keep that in mind, it might make things run smoother next time you make something thats amazing such as that bio. congrats im jealous.

Hi guys,

I finally started to paint this up. I wanted to go for screen accurate, but it seems that it's ending up like a P1 paint up. I've only did one paint up and that was a custom one on my Broken Tusk bio. I've never done a traditional paint up on a bio, and I'm unsure about how it's turning out so far, but I guess it's early. Still in paint process too, it's not finished yet.

Any comments and critiques are more then welcome.

I'll be offering these up raw once I receive more resin.

EDIT: I have Ultra-Bright Green LED's on their way from Predatrhunter and I'm going to be ordering a set of tinted lenses too.

It looks white? What I would do is put a layer of green splotches on it, then put a layer of dark silver and then a layer of light silver. The green should still show through if you put the paint on sporadically. Lots of layers - thats the key to painting armor/metal

Yea, it's very light. The more I look at it, the more I'm not liking the direction at all. I actually sprayed a base coat of a grayish color, then used steel gray, medium gray, black, and ancient gold acrylic colors from WalMart. I think I'm going to start over and go with silver this time.

I have to get over the urge to cover the entire bio with every layer I put on it.

Now granted, I went with an uber-aged look, but what I did was try to think of areas where it might be damaged, as well as areas such as recesses where corrosion may occur and grime deposits build up. Basically, I came up with a bit of a story in my head to develop where more "damage" may have occurred, i.e. a blast to the head, had to duck and run threw an explosion, etc., and just kind of went from there. Areas angled in, somewhat shielded from potential hazards, are maybe going to be shinier. George helped me see that less is more. Too many battle shots and stuff looks overdone (One of the issues I had). But, yeah, spreading out the paint takes away from the uniformity of it and makes it look "more real", IMHO. Have you checked out Hez's vids on painting? If not, do so. They're great, especially the scuffing tips. I also agree with Jason: layers, layers, layers, and more layers...

Yup, I checked out Hez's video's and used the scuffing on the bio. I like the backstory idea too. The look I want to try and achieve is one that he was through his fair share of hunts and battles, some battle damage from, like you said, explosions, hunts, blasts to the head. The one thing that stood out to me in the movie comparing all three is that the Falconer bio didn't seem as banged up as Mr. Blacks and Trackers. Their bios had dents, blast marks on Mr. Blacks, and severe damage to Trackers eye....but the Falconer had minimal damage. I guess a look would be a version of the movie bio, but with obvious battle damage to it. I used grays mostly, but did pick up some silver They didn't have a light or dark silver, so I'll have to wither lighten it up with a little white and darken it with a little black. I'm also going to use a wash with the silver and see how that looks. I had a problem trying to see what areas would be darkened from recessed area, but I'll figure that out as I go. I have until NYCC in October, so I have a good cushion of time to work with...

Thanks to tips from Predator666thepain666, Darth Pinhead, and Predatrhunter....I've redone my paint up and I really like how it came out. I might add a blast mark or two, but other then that, all I need are my green led's and lenses and it's finished.

Let me know what you think.

The above pic is the finished bio. I did add some personal touches to make it my interpretation, such as Wolf eyes added, small dents in the bio to represent damage from multiple hunts.
