Falcon Nav Computer

Ok, so this is my first draft of a Falcon (Style) Nav Computer. It is NOT a replica, it was designed for my own "Star Wars" cave. But another member said they would like to see how it was built.

It was a very rough 1st draft, as it was my first ever build in this hobby. I have since started to re-build the console, as I was very unhappy with the first draft. I will post a thread on the 2nd edition as I have enough worthy images.

I hope you guys like the interpretation.:unsure

WOW!!! so inspiring...how accurate is it comparing to the real prop? Did you use alot of reference pictures?

Unfortunately it is not very accurate as far as the original. I had some difficulty finding enough reference for the project. Also I was trying to create something that would fit in my space, which is limited, and be original to my overall design.

I used a lot of parts lying around my garage as well, so that restricted the accuracy. I think the whole thing cost me around $150.00 to build. (New material anyway)

Awesomeness! That is really inspiring.

Btw. I have a couple of pics of the Falcon's nav-computer laying around somewhere on my harddrive. I find it very likely that there are members here who have even better references, and can even identify some of the components.

that would be awesome to create a research thread for it

I would love what ever you have, as it turns out I have a friend that wants me to build him a "Movie Acurate" replica for his home theater. If you have images I would love to get a copy. Mine are blurry DVD capture images. And if anyone else has any info on the unit let me know!

Since you guys liked it, here is the only addition I made for the console. I have since added silver padding for the back, but i don't have a picture of that yet. I figured it needed a chair.:lol

I really liked the first set of pictures and the display case you had next to the nav computer. But that chair just takes it to the next level. Details might not be movie accurate but you've really tied it all together nicely.

Brilliant.

Ted.

I agree!! That display looks amazing! The chair really completed the look! GREAT work, brother! Thanks for sharing that :thumbsup

You weren't asking for advice, but I would get rid of the computer screen in the middle and replace it with a different greebly. I think it really kills the look.
