Falcon hallway lighting - found object?

Anyone know if a found object was used for the lighting fixtures in the Millennium Falcon hallway sets for the OT? In most hallway shots you can see them in groups of 5 at about head height in the interior tubular passageways.

You can see them in the background of this shot:

This may sound odd, but the raised grey parts look almost like the old fashioned orange juicer ream...

Yeah, I was thinking that, or maybe a distributor cap from a car engine.

That's not the best image... I need to do some vid caps and get a better view.
